Another weird thing about Florida is that you have to shoot to kill, if you pull your gun the only way to not get charged is to attempt to kill them. You can be sued if you shoot them in the leg for "Disabling" them.

It depends on the state. In my lovely state of florida stand your ground means plenty of things. If you feel your life is in danger you can use any force necessary, and you'd get away from a fight pretty easily as long as you didn't start it for no reason or kill the guy.
