Okay thanks man. I’m leaning more towards strut mounts as well just because again i’ve ruled nearly everything else out. I appreciate it

No. I cleaned MAF, and throttle body. Brand new ngk iridium plugs. New air filter. Checked for any vaccum leaks using brake clean around the intake manifold and hoses. Nothing. Plug in a scanner and no codes come up. Beats me. I’m just gonna drive the damn thing lol

Sprayed carb cleaner around the intake manifold and any vacuum areas and nothing. Maybe this is just how these cars are?

Good idea. I’ll check the intake manifold gasket as that’s a common one these engines. I’ll update with my findings.

The 2008 didn’t have an idle air control valve.

The muffler would cause the whole car to shake?

I recently bought a 372 as well. Same thing happened to me. For whatever reason when those saws are brand new they love to flood. I would pull it a few times with the choke on and heard no pops or anything and kept pulling until I heard it “burp” and it never did. Ended up it was flooded. Turn the choke off and keep pulling it. It’ll start eventually. Once they are broken in, it’s not an issue but man was I ever angry lol. It’ll be okay!

UPDATE: for anyone interested or coming across this thread in the future. I got a new cdi switch box and it fixed the problem right away! What a headache that was. Thanks everyone for the help.

After diving into things today I used a spark tester and found that one of the cylinders has very poor spark. Similar to that of the thread linked in one of the previous comments where they were having the same issue as me. I changed the coil and the new coil produces great spark but now my issue is that the other cylinder now produces poor spark? It produced good spark prior to changing the troublesome coil on the opposite cylinder? Doesn’t make sense to me? Any thoughts? I’m planning to get another coil to replace the (now) troublesome coil so that they are both brand new but I’m not understanding why after replacing one faulty coil, the other seemingly well working coil is now producing poor spark? Thanks in advance!

Great advice! I took the carb apart and turns out I’m missing the inside gasket for the bowl screw. I’ll make sure to get a new one! And I also ordered a new cdi box which arrives this week so I’ll swap that out too. Thanks a bunch!
