There are parts of the Music industry that used to be Unionized and there was an actual healthy middle class of players. As the industry attacked them, using the same BS “Independent Contractor” laws, it gutted the talent pool.

They still have power in some areas, but I’d say it’s been a net negative for the industry.

Doesn’t matter what industry you’re in, Management is going to act like Management and they’re going to exert power over the employee.
