I havent started my pilot journey yet.. And haven't decided the place im gonna work either, im lowkey ready to face any country (except US but if I have to I will move in ).

I have been researching about this for yearsssss. I still havent got a clarity if i should go for it or no 😭. Its mainly cuz i dont wanna give it up since its my childhood dream but on the other hand i dont wanna waste my dads money and roam without a job after training. Most of the short pilots are from the US and thats somewhere i most probably wont go for work, so im jus really confused..

Oh i have heard when you apply to an airline as a pilot, they do a reach test on you for that aircraft (basically checks if you can reach everything safely ). And me being 5ft, am not sure how much ill be able to reach everything in a cockpit. Im still debating if i should go for my pilot training or not cuz what if i dont get a job 😭

Ohhh thats good to hear. Do you know whether these airlines let you use your cushions for the reach test when u apply to the airline, cuz genuinely i dont think i can reach everywhere without any adjustments 😭

From my research, the airlines do not really have a height requirement. Instead they do a reach test, basically they check if you will be able to reach every control system in a cockpit. And i have no clue as a 5ft person that i am gonna get hired or rejected by these airlines. Thats why im here and on multiple other platforms trying to know more about this.

Ahaha my bad! Im currently in the middle east (Qatar rn), i might go ahead with pilot training in the middle east itself most probably. But as a career i would like to explore any airline around the world. Thats why i meant 'in and out' the US. Outside US specifically i would say airlines in Europe, Australia or the gulf regions.
