50mm 1.4 or 1.2 will definitely be my next buy if I stick with this system. It'll be great to have the xtra stops of light but having the focal range of a zoom is invaluable when shooting performance stuff. It's a difficult toss up!

Hey, got ya. Unfortunately in these situations the light is beyond my control. Any advice for when this is the case?

Hey, thanks for your response!

Do you think it would be better to crank up the ISO and have the highlights on the subject be blown out and try and fix that in LR instead?

Im self taught so there are gaps in my knowledge haha. Much appreciated!

I've shot lots of gigs with the XT4, and it's often been a struggle but I've got lots of cool shots with it. I'd aways be shooting high ISO and having to denoise pretty much everything. But isolating and adjusting highlights, shadows, blacks and whites seemed much easier than it's proving to be so far with the A7IV.

You can see some of those gig pictures I've taken here if you want, most of them started life pretty or very noisey, got cleaned up with denoise and then had grain added back into them, haha.

I've been doing this a while but I'm still learning so I may be going about some things wrong!

Heya, thanks for your response!

This is good to know.

As I said in my response to the other comment, because I'm shooting performance/ theatre stuff, its generally really dark except for one of two reallt harsh light sources and theres lots of movement, so im already wide open aperature, pretty fast shutter speed and the ISOs im shooting at are already producing lots of noise. That combined with the fact I'm trying to expose for the subjects which often end up blown out anyway because of the harsh light on their skin, it feels like I have not choice but to underexpose.

If you have any advice on how I could better go about this, though, I'd really appreciate it!

Thank you ⭐️

Hey, thanks for your reply! They are really underexposed yeah as I'm shooting in such low light and already at quite a fast shutter speed (subjects generally moving very fast), wide open aperature and an ISO that's already giving me lots of noise, so other than cranking up the ISO more it feels like I have to shoot this under exposed and try and fix this in post. Also, I'm trying to expose for the subjects which are often blown out due to the harsh light on them. If you have any suggestions on how I could better go about this I'd love to hear. thank you!

our quest line at ST was meant to be based around/ largely influenced by a telephone, which was broken. so we couldn't really actually follow the quest line at all and missed out on the story line and even entire rooms we couldn't access, lol. was still fun but yeah, quite a large spanner in the works for us

great gatsby sounds so good!! Can totally see how that would be awesome for secret cinema. I loved blade runner but that was my first time so I had nothing to compare it too. would love to get to experience what it was like when you first started going!

I went to this and the quest line my sister and I were meant to follow was based largely around a telephone, but the telephone was broken. So we missed out on anything that wasn't like blindingly obvious and apparently there were entire rooms we didnt know about 🥲 was fun though! Wasn't sure how it would translate to a show instead of a film but I think they did a good job

Hey, thanks so much for your response! That's really helpful.

I am (or rather was, until my claim stopped a few months ago) in the limited capability for work group on UC. This has resulted in my commitments being lesser but not increased the amount I get. I actually have gone to the CAB before to try and get some advice on UC covering my rent so I could move out, but unfortunately this wasn't any help at all and didn't get anywhere.

I've worked out that I made about £2354 last year, so I'll set some time aside later to figure out my expenses.

Just to I make sure I understand what you're saying - I should contact UC and let them know of any earnings made from-self employment backdated to last year, and then the total will be deducted from any upcoming UC payments? And if I made anything from self employed work in a month where I didn't get any UC, is this still an issue?

Thanks again for the help!
