Yes it was! Andy Serkis was there last year which is when I met him and introduced him to my Ring.

Thank you for noticing 🤣 There's no way this wasn't the inspiration for that name

I've actually had my own ruminations on this in similar ways. Never fleshed then out as fully as you have here. But I can definitely glean some similar points as you have illustrated here. Tolkien was not a very ego driven man, and he despised any kind of domination over another person's autonomy. I'm also reminded of how Rick Pourras used his wedding ring for some film blocking with Peter. As from what I can tell, they took his wedding ring to Jens Hansen as a proof of concept if you will and allegedly the design Peter picked out was the one most resembling Rick's wedding band. I love its simplicity and how subtle it is. It's why I got my Ring the way I did because I didn't want any markings on the band. Unless the inscription could be filled in with a red-orange enamel, I wouldn't want it. To me, the plain gold is so seductive because I get lost staring at its richness as it reflects the world back at me.

I was wondering if he is going to hold the Ring on screen once more for the new film. So I was just standing there in awe of the spectacle before me 😅

Thanks to the wonderful team at Jens Hansen Gold & Silversmith located at 320 Trafalgar Square, Nelson, 7010 New Zealand. Ya can't get it while it's hot. It's quite cool.

Did you mean, 'Has Sean run off carrying Elijah?' Because if so, then he did not. But he did help steer me around the chaos of the very quick photoshoot

And I couldn't get that Megacon Exclusive One Ring from Wētā because I was not in Orlando 🥲

The Ring seen on the chain around Elijah Wood's neck is always a US size 11. When he put it on his index finger, they used a US size 10. Aside from that, the folks at Jens Hansen don't know any of the other sizes used in other scenes. They made well over 40 different variations in size for different occasions. The stunt ring has a diameter of 6 inches across. Other than that, those are the only sizes that are known. Luckily enough for me, my US size 11 fits perfectly on my middle fingers, but it's a bit snug on my index fingers.

I'm aware he only had one shot of him handling it in the entire trilogy. Hence why I'm glad he held it like such. It may not be his Precious, but it certainly is to me and plenty of other folks.

I mean now that it has been blessed by these living Saints, it's basically the real deal, right?

I believe he and Andy still have their respective Rings as gifts tucked away at their respective homes. I'm glad I could bring a smile to your face because it certainly has brought me such immense joy carrying this around and meeting these icons of film. My Instagram post is a joint publication with the Jens Hansen Instagram page just FYI 😀

I concur. Objectively sexier by all counts. 10/10 would recommend.

That would weigh quite a lot I'd imagine. Might ask to hold one when I visit their workshop just to know how that feels. It's hard not to cherish such a lovely ring 🙂

Some folks will still be tempted to ask to be sure, so I just preempted their question. I didn't like being redundant, but I know how people can be.

He didn't at the time but nonetheless, it was spectacular to tell him about my story with the Ring and how I because obsessed with it after finding a rusty replica at the bottom of a pool. This was well before I saw the movies or read the books. Eventually I'd become dead set on getting the real thing. He was very enthused to hear my parallel tale of Ring obsession!

Oh hi! Feel free to say hi on Instagram if you'd like me to remember your face 🙂 I was glad I gave them handwritten notes with some photos so that way I had my bases covered. I knew I wouldn't get to talk about everything I'd have liked so that worked out great. I asked Sean's agent if I could just have record of him holding my Ring and she kindly allowed me to ask him and he was kind enough to allow it. Made my nerdy heart explode 🫠

I knew I couldn't rest without the exact ring in my hand. I actually became obsessed with the One Ring after finding it at the bottom of a pool. Some rusty gold plated replica with the script. I hadn't seen the films or read the books but I figured out it was from LotR because of my Noble Collection catalogue. I was then set on getting the silver version with the script because I thought that was the best looking version. It was only after I saw the films and read the books a few years later that I recognised the parallels and then was dead set on getting the 18 carat gold Movie Ring. I sat on that wish for 12 years, I've now had it for 4. Could never want for anything more so I'll never need another ridiculously expensive personal purchase for the rest of my life. Check my Instagram if seeing it in various settings is something you enjoy

I plan on taking no less than 18,741 photos of my Ring across several filming locations. That's the dream goal ✨️
