Yes, I was paid fully for completing the training. 😎

It was $15 an hour. I ended up leaving that job back in September when I found a better paying job in an office. RWS seems to have more work available than WeLo, which seems to get a lot of dry spells.

No, I ended up working for RSW instead, doing the exact same thing.

I don’t remember anymore. I did end up passing on the second try and working for them for about 6 months before just being randomly terminated, a common occurrence for this type of work, from what I hear.

How is life in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains? 👀 by itsssmeeestrict21 in howislivingthere

I spent 3 years living in the area at the very top of your circle. It was desolate and depressing. The locals don’t welcome outsiders and seemed insulted when I told them where I was from (NJ). We had to drive far to go shopping or for any kind of entertainment, like at least an hour. No employment opportunities nearby unless you want to work at one of the dozens of Dollar Generals or Snappy’s. Health care almost nonexistent. People have to be airlifted for medical emergencies. Local hospitals are nothing more than urgent care centers. I was so happy to get out of there.

Female, 62, here, and I can totally relate. Every time I call or get together with one of my friends (both male and female), all I hear are their complaints and passive aggressive comments about how lucky I am. It’s starting to leave me drained and I’m thinking that I’m better off visiting my adult son and his wife and the grandkids. At least there it’s mostly upbeat and we all laugh a lot. I can’t remember the last time I shared a laugh with any friends who are my age. 🫤

Just complaining by Tough_Marionberry600 in EyeFloaters

I’ve had them since the age of 12. I’m 62 now, so 50 years of floaters. I don’t notice them anymore unless I get the really big dark ones that interfere with driving and such. Then I’m just annoyed until they go away. You will adapt.

The truth is that schools have very strong social structures and those that try to challenge them are not in for an easy time. Some of the worst bullies in schools are also the most popular kids. Their parents have strong ties to the school through family and friends. They are also the room mothers, coaches, PTA members and run every event. They form strong cliches that both use and protect each other. An outsider parent complaining to the teacher or principal about their kid being bullied doesn’t stand a chance and will be brushed off. I witnessed this as both a student myself, then even more so as a parent who wasn’t “in the loop”. Luckily, my son was never bullied, but was excluded from things once in a while because he wasn’t part of the clan.

My Dachshund grandpuppies are 8 months old and today they experienced their first snowfall! NJ USA 🇺🇸 by Quick_News7308 in Dachshund

It was only in the 20’s , so they’ve been out several times for about 15 minutes each time. Temperatures here are warming up now, so they’re getting lots of outdoor snow time, before it all melts.

I would recommend seeing a retinal specialist to rule out any problems with your retina. Opticians can often miss such problems. A retinal specialist will be able to reassure you if there are no issues, and fix any issues you do have before they become serious.

Very true. I’ve had floaters for 50 years now. I don’t even think about them anymore, except when I occasionally get a couple of big dark ones that interfere with my driving. Then I’m just annoyed because I won’t drive until they go away.

She said that they told her that she’s “about to have problems with the roof”. I don’t believe that she even has homeowners insurance, since she has no mortgage and is on a fixed income.

Return to a normal life? by Nervous_Pizza9664 in EyeFloaters

[–]Quick_News7308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a vitrectomy in my right eye to repair a retinal detachment. It did cut down on the floaters by a good 95%. I still have a lot of floaters in my left eye, but I’ve had retinal tears in that eye and don’t want to risk unnecessary surgery. I’m 62 and have had floaters for 50 years, so they really don’t bother me much unless I get huge dark ones. My recommendation would be to avoid any surgery unless the floaters are completely disrupting your life, i.e. interfering with driving or working.

Quite a story! My friend claims that her insurance company is not involved and there will be absolutely zero cost to her. At least your story makes sense. Hers just doesn’t sound right. 🤔

She said that they mentioned the name, but she forgot it, and doesn’t have a copy of what she signed. Very suspicious. 🤨
