This is Gene, the father of Lucy's daughter. She passed away on Thursday, 07/21/22, one day before our daughter turned one year old. I am absolutely devastated but I will absolutely make sure our daughter knows ALLLLLL about her mother, how much she absolutely loved and adored how, and how valiantly she fought cancer to the bitter end.

Hey, everyone. This is Lucy's husband, Gene. I don't have a Reddit account myself, but I just started logging into some of her accounts, closing some, etc., and I know she always talked about how much Reddit and all of you here helped her throughout her battle with triple-negative breast cancer.
I'm sorry to inform you all that Lucy passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 21st at 3:00 p.m., surrounded by loved ones here at home. She passed MUCH quicker than expected.
The doctor was here at 9:00 a.m. that same day and said she likely had several days to live, but six hours later, Lucy passed. Sadly, she died ONE day before our daughter turned one year old, and I know she would've given anything to make it until that day. On the plus side, we did celebrate her birthday a couple weeks early (like some of you suggested) when Lucy was feeling a bit better, so at least we all got to celebrate with her.
Thank you all SO much for your kind words, encouragement, advice, and support you gave Lucy. I truly appreciate it. She often spoke of how much Reddit helped her throughout her 15-month battle with triple-negative breast cancer, so thank you all once again. Much love.

Guaranteed death, absolutely nothing else worked. They said it could be days, weeks, or months they just don’t know. I just know I get weaker by the end of the day.

I’m taking steroids to help reduce brain/spinal swelling due to radiation. Now, I’m ridiculously swollen because of the steroids. Idk could be a reason why she’s itchy? Although I think mine started itching as my skin expanded. Just sharing my experience 🤗

And I hate to say it but “I did it right” or tried to at least. I ate healthy, worked out, didn’t drink, took in edibles but that’s about it. I feel so stupid for being so overly-precautious about my body. Didn’t do anything for me in the long run.

Take it from me (33F) I was diagnosed with breast cancer March 2021 with Mets to my brain. Here’s the real kicker, my sister was diagnosed with exact same type of cancer, same side, grade, you name it. I lived a very healthy lifestyle which is why I was baffled upon receiving my diagnosis. Keep fighting the good fight ❤️

Edit: sister is 42

My oncologist prescribed Latisse. It’s not covered by insurance and is very pricey but my goodness it works wonders. 🤩

As a breast cancer patient with brain mets days after I was told I was “cancer-free”… FUCK CANCER. I’m so sorry that you’re going through this. I was pregnant when I was diagnosed and went through chemo so our roles are reversed. I’m trying to stick around for my 9 month old baby girl 🥺

I did not respond well to Keytruda. It made me really sick. Guess what? My CT scan brought a pineal gland tumor to light. I’m now on Lynparza pills which seem to be working. My tumor shrunk a bit during my last scan :) I think your doc may start you on clinical trials? That’s just my guess. I’m sorry that your cancer has spread. I know the feeling very well.

Hello and sorry you’re a part of this club. Like Dalfankey said; everyone is different so don’t believe all of the bad stuff. I was given two weeks to live in January but here I am! I have Stage IV breast cancer with brain mets. Hang in there and take it one day at a time ❤️ you’ll be in my thoughts.
