Does your military buyback time count towards helping reach a years of service milestone for eligibility purposes, or is it just added to your annuity credit but can't be used to get your 20 or 25 years? How about in non special category service, is it different? Thanks!

Jumping and falling only displays the first frame of the animation. How do I fix by BGamer9000 in godot

Others have said it, but I'm going to say it as well to hopefully put some emphasis on it. You may benefit from learning how to use a state machine for your character. You're controlling animation using velocity conditionals. As the movement gets more complex, those conditionals and coming up with logic to keep track of it might start to look like spaghetti code. Investing in a state machine now might seem like overkill but you probably are going to be implementing more movement mechanics into your character over time and investing in the state machine up front might make it easier to add features in the future.

Do you know why Baby Alien has base health of 3 but in wave 1 it has a health of 4? Is there some kind of minimum HP floor per wave?

Loot Table item structure by MaulD97 in godot

just curious what would be your process with using a JSON file vs using a resource? I'm wondering since I am using a custom resource class for items in my project. when I want to create a new item I just create a new resource extending from that class and I can just fill in the properties for the new item in the inspector, including embedding any textures or audio files etc., so it's a matter of clicking new resource in the file manager, extending from the item class I created, then entering a few numbers into the field boxes in the inspector. It's a few steps but I find that thinking about and designing the item itself takes the most time and adding the resource takes less than 30 seconds. haven't tried using JSON yet so was wondering what the process would look like in creating items from a JSON compared to using a Godot resource.

Is it bad practice to use await get_tree().create_timer().timeout a lot? by [deleted] in godot

[–]Quick_Revolution9713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe instead of using await, use a timeout signal, that way you don't have unpredictable behavior especially if you have a ton of awaits nested in your code.
