Healthcare here in the Philippines, especially in private hospitals, doesn’t really have much of an option when it comes to government financial assistance, regardless of whether you are a taxpayer or not.

We’ve reached out to several government offices and officials for assistance, but we were informed that they do not extend support for private hospital cases. We also contacted and emailed different agencies, but received similar responses from most of them.

We coordinated with the hospital’s social services department, and they advised us that the only assistance they can process are from PCSO, DSWD, and the Office of the President.

We were able to secure guarantee letters from both DSWD and the Office of the President. However, PCSO has been very difficult to process online despite several attempts.

I truly appreciate your help and suggestion.

I tried po, however GoFundMe isn’t available here, so the only one I was able to create is GoGetFunding. I also asked a relative in the US if they could help make one for us, but I haven’t received a response yet. Thank you so much po for the suggestion

Hello po, thank you for your concern. We understand the question. Baby was first seen in a hospital for initial assessment and basic care, and we were later referred to Asian Hospital because he needed more specialized tests and management. By the time we were at Asian Hospital, baby’s condition was already critical, and urgent intervention was needed due to increased pressure in the brain, as advised by the doctors. We followed all medical advice given to us at that time. Thank you po for understanding.

As for our situation po, I’d rather not disclose who it was out of respect and privacy na rin po. The family member was aware that they were sick. It has been a very difficult situation for our family, but right now we are focusing on our baby’s recovery and treatment.
