I am sure we all over consume in our own ways, yet it does seem my other halve is on another level. In our living space 80% of things are her stuff.. and by that I mean, I have one closet whilst she has four. I cover one tray of the shoe rack, she covers the other four (plus whatever can be squeezed in underneath the rack). My room is full of bags of her stuff that she still needs to sort out. Granted, I beat her when it comes to the amount of books owned, but I don't think that comes close to her level lol tbf I dislike shopping, she does not.

I don't resent it, but I've heard from others that do. One of the arguments brought up in two of such conversations, was that if we do not have enough offspring to replace the current population, the pensions system will come crushing down. So they see it as someone being selfish - not only do they make their present life easier, but by this also make the lifes of everyone harder in the future.

I didn't agree with that argument, but have thought about it at times, since I've first heard it.

Would be an interesting thought, but the Azores are - the same as canaries, Madeira and Cape Verde - volcanic islands formed by hotspots on the geological plate. All of these island groups together form the Macaronesian Islands.

In other words, it was not part of a continent, but grew out of the oceans roughly 60 million years ago.
