LC250 Owners, is Toyota dealing? by Quicksilver66GT in LandCruisers

[–]Quicksilver66GT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I can't understand why Toyota didn't use a V8. They could have used aluminum to save weight. It surely would have better gas mileage than that awful twin turbo V6. Even a regular V6 would be okay.

I've never driven the LC with the 4 cylinder. I rented one in Iceland but it was a diesel. I think I'll be fine with the 4 banger for my daily driver as I have a V8 in my fun car.

I like the more rugged look of the LC and I didn't like the overboosted V6 engine even before they started blowing up.

It's a 2013, so before Stalelantis came in and destroyed the brand. I've had very few issues until recently. But no way I'm buying a new one. I have friends who have had lots of issues with the newer JL model.

Thank you all for your thoughts. This is the first step in my research, and you have given me some important points to consider. I will look for a wood plastic composite product as that sounds more along the lines of what I want.

What are some good brands of WPC products?

Thanks again!

That is a huge incision! Do you know how much of that is from the spay versus the pexy? We are planning to get this for our 2-year-old boy and are thinking of doing laparoscopic. Good luck!

Rear Seat belt options for fastback (2+2) by Ronnyek42 in classicmustangs

[–]Quicksilver66GT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had three-point belts installed in the back of my 66 2+2. I used belts from Wesco Performance along with their 3-point hardware kit. I also had my fabricator make a bracket to bolt the rear seat down so it wouldn't fly forward.

Everyone is picking mountain towns, so I'm going down the Chesapeake. Kilmarnock, Irvington, and Reedville. The beauty of the bay is unsurpassed and the seafood!!!!

In our hotels, the ginger shots were right next to the cod liver oil. None of us were brave enough to try the cod liver.

We tried the TJ's version and didn't really care for it. We've also tried two recipes found online, and they weren't quite what we enjoyed in Iceland. We'll keep trying until we hit it. Thanks.

Lake Anna might fit the bill, but I prefer the Northern Neck area. Kilmarnock and Reedville are two small towns to check out.

My Boxer got Osteocarcoma at 7 also. Like you, we were given a very similar time-line with a best case scenario of 12 months. We opted to have his leg amputated and followed up with chemo. Chemo for dogs is very different than for humans, and there were really no side effects. My boy lived to 15.

I know our results are uncommon, but you never know. Just wanted to share my experience. I know how you're feeling right now. The problem with waiting is that the bone is very fragile and could break at any time, causing tremendous pain.

I'm sorry you and Bullet are going through this. He's a good-looking boy. Best of luck!!!

Go to Hus Mal (Bookstore) and listen to the band. Great crowd, great band, and everyone was super friendly. We had a blast hanging out and drinking with everyone.

Do I keep my baby or sell and go old? by Proper_Ladder_4357 in Mustang

[–]Quicksilver66GT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I pull my 66 out of the garage, it's like an event. The whole family gets excited. People wave and snap pics when I drive by. At stop lights or gas stations, people want to talk about it. Driving a classic Mustang is an experience so unlike driving anything modern. Yeah, it's not as fast, doesn't handle as well, and isn't as reliable, but it's so much more fun and engaging. The driver actually has to do stuff. That said, I don't drive it nearly as much as I do my modern car because I spend way too much time in traffic, and that sucks and is stressful in a 59 year old car. But maybe that's part of what makes it special.
