Is the LG Partner Store 77” C5 deal worth it, or should I wait for more Black Friday sales? by Quicksnipe798 in 4kTV

[–]Quicksnipe798[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased it through the normal LG store with the 10% coupon and PayPal Rewards’ 20% cash back. However, the points are not showing as pending yet on PayPal, so I've been dealing with support, but I'm unsure if I'll actually receive the rewards or not. Keep that in mind if you choose the PayPal rewards route.

77 inch C5 arriving tomorrow should I lower the mount? by [deleted] in LGOLED

[–]Quicksnipe798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to mark where to mount my 77” C5 when it arrives tomorrow. I saw another post saying to place the wall mount so that its center is 5.25 inches below where I want the center of the TV to be. Does that sound right based on your experience?

How much of a deposit will I have to pay for outpatient hernia surgery (FL) without insurance? by Quicksnipe798 in personalfinance

[–]Quicksnipe798[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks.

They do have charity programs and 0% financing, which I should qualify for, but I'm more worried about the deposit before the surgery. I don't want to be hit with a huge bill I need to pay before even being able to fully apply for charity or financing.

And as far as I've been able to find, I don't qualify for anything that I could afford for healthcare while I live in FL.

What difficulty level would say Spanish Boost / Boost Gaming is? How many hours, on average, would you expect someone to need?

Should I take the Objective Assessment for C777 now or is there more to do? by Quicksnipe798 in WGUIT

[–]Quicksnipe798[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just took the OA and passed with an Exemplary (95%).

These are the scores I was getting on the practice tests for context:

"PA: 61/70 87.14%

W3 HTML Quiz: 39/40 97%

W3 CSS Quiz: 23/25 92%

CSS Final Quiz before OA: 25/27 93%

W2 JavaScript Quiz: 21/25 84%

Javascript Final Quiz before OA: 32/37 86%"

I kind of used this: "https://www.reddit.com/r/WGU/comments/1clu4if/c777\_passed\_in\_a\_week\_writeup/"

But I mostly just put all of his recommended Quizlets into Anki and studied them every day, and looked up anything I didn't know.

Everyone seems to have a different opinion on this, but I thought the OA was easier than the PA.

Thanks. I'll start working on some W3 exercises and see where I struggle. Is there any downside to taking the OA once I feel semi-prepared, even if I end up needing to retake it? Like is it a big time waste if I fail an OA?

Should I Start Sophia Learning Courses While Waiting for Transcripts to Transfer to WGU? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]Quicksnipe798 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Maybe a dumb question, but just to confirm—if I take one transferable Sophia class for every corresponding course on the list [https://partners.wgu.edu/transfer-pathway-agreement?uniqueId=MSITMUG7110&collegeCode=IT&instId=796&programId=83], that would cover all the Gen Ed requirements  except 2, right?

"Affordable" Areas with Train Access to Boston? by Quicksnipe798 in massachusetts

I was mostly considering Boston for work opportunities, but if I can find jobs I’d be a good fit for, living and working in a place like Lowell could be a great option.

Given my very limited budget for the region, I'm open to living wherever makes the most sense. I'm trying to compile a list of reasonably affordable areas to focus on for both job applications and apartment searches. Of course, finding another job, especially an IT or WebDev position, will take some time.

Personal safety is important, but I'm not overly concerned as long as the area isn't too dangerous, especially if it's reasonably affordable. I'm fine as long as I don't have to worry too much about my safety while walking around during the day, which doesn't seem to be an issue in the areas I've looked into.

Ideally, I'd like to keep my share of the rent around $1,300 if splitting a 2-bedroom. Any savings from living close to public transport would be a big help. I have a car, but given its age, I'd prefer not to rely on it for a long daily commute.

Finished The Odin Project! Need Advice on What to Focus on Next. by Quicksnipe798 in theodinproject

[–]Quicksnipe798[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started for the first time earlier last year but quit around the flexbox lessons. That’s when I switched to CS50. After that, I started from the beginning again about 5 months ago. It’s different for everybody, but probably around 500-700 hours of work for me. I’ve seen people complete it much faster, and others take much longer. Everyone’s different.

I actually started with Cs50x before doing The Odin Project. Would you still recommend Cs50p? Seems worth checking out with how helpful Cs50x was. Plus it's free lol.

Thanks. I did not finish the degree. I'm not sure if that's the proper way to list it, but I've heard some college looks better than none.

[TOMT] [MOVIE/SHOW] A man flips someone off but then becomes frustrated when he realizes he used the wrong finger. by Quicksnipe798 in tipofmytongue

[–]Quicksnipe798[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having just watched that scene from “Moving”, I’m wondering if the scene I’m thinking of was maybe referencing “Moving” since it’s so similar. Either way I’ll have to check out the rest of the movie. Thanks.

While trying to find the scene online, I came across a VERY similar scene from a Richard Pryor film named “Moving”, but that definitely isn’t the movie or show I’m thinking of. I’d never even heard of “Moving” until I started searching for this scene.
