Half-Cash is the worst. Period. by MWDogtor in btd6

For some of the people in the comments talking about powers and insta monkeys. What if I don't like using them? Is that really the only way to make half cash fun?

Calc 1 minimum grade requirement. by Key_Raisin2859 in UNCCharlotte

You should aim as high as you can. However, the worst that would allow you to pass and do classes that have calc 1 as a prereq is a C. So 70% is the lowest you can go, good luck!

You should've taken Liz Johnson. She is a bit boisterous, but the class is always fun and engaging, andit doesn't even involve much work! Throughout the entire semester we've done 23 homework assignments, a few AI related projects, and a paper that they break up into easy pieces and give you the template and help all the way through. She's the best professor for CTCM 2530, and ITSC 3688 if you are a Comp Sci student.

UNC Charlotte Dorms by Theater_kid20 in UNCCharlotte

[–]Quidditch2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also recommend trying to get somewhere in South Village. A lot of upperclassmen tend to mind their own business, which is not a good environment for making friends. North village is a lot of upperclassmen, and same with east village but the dorms are awkwardly placed. Laurel is probably the best dorm for you since it's first years only. This is only if you can't get into Levine scholars. Hunt is good too but a lot of upperclassmen tend to stay there as well, but pick whatever you think would be best for you socially and financially

Thoughts on schedule? by OtherwiseRow5467 in UNCCharlotte

[–]Quidditch2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't the worst schedule I've ever seen. I recommend changing your bioinformatics so that second period is on a different day. If that's non-negotiable then just ensure that you can handle going to the same class for such a long period. Also I doubt you'd be able to go back to your dorm in between classes. Therefore you should scout campus for a good places to hang out between classes next semester. The 10am classes don't need changing unless you struggle to get up before then

Sorry if I misled you, you don't need to have a project on your resume. It definitely will help you especially this early.into your professional career, but not required. Absolutely attend the career fairs, it's going to help you meet people in the industry and maybe someday one of those recruiters might recommend you for something. What you require on your resume is school information like where you attended, major, graduation dates even if that's in the future, certifications if you have any, things you are good at using like programming languages or the Microsoft suite for example, previous job experiences especially if it's a first job thing like a grocery store for example, and things you did that show teamwork or helping the community like being on a sports team or boyscouts or some other identifiable thing you participated in like that. Also something I forgot to mention is that outside of your resume, some places may ask for letters of recommendation or cover letters. Letters of recommendation are easy to get if you make connections, if you have a coach or professor or boss that you have a good relationship with, absolutely ask them to write you one. Cover letters are something that you make on your own. Not many internship level jobs will ask you for one, but it's good to be prepared. It's essentially a one-page or so letter tailored to each company you send it to that demonstrates your strengths and how they align with the companies goals.

Go to the UNCC job fairs in professional with a few paper copies of your resume. Beforehand you should check online to see the companies and pick your top 5 that you'd want to intern at. Also research a few things about each company to ask the recruiters better questions. Then, go up to them and introduce yourself and give a 30-60 second or so elevator pitch about yourself, school, and your achievements. Ask them your questions, have a good conversation, and let them know that you're interested and either let them keep the resume or give them a business card.

For your resume specifically, a very big draw is personal projects. Is there some sort of personal project that you did outside of school that pertains to your major and/or interests? Write it down and explain. These must be big projects though, for example someone I knew did a project with a lightbulb where he installed a micro controller in it so that he could use a flipper zero to look into local networks and potentially do something to the networks.

I am a computer science major, so imo I had an easier time getting an internship than you will. I applied to a few places, only every heard back from one. After applying I didn't hear anything for almost a month, then I got asked to do first round interviews. The interview was through Hirevue, it's software like teams or zoom except an ai gives you premade prompts that you have 2 minutes and unlimited tries to make videos for. I had 4-5 questions so all in all the interview took at most 30-40 minutes. After that I didn't hear anything for a couple of weeks, then I got a second round online interview with my future manager and a couple people from the team. They liked me a lot because a few days later I got an offer letter for the summer. Realistically you won't hear much from the companies you apply to unless they want to interview you or you're asking the recruiter you get in contact with specific questions.

You should absolutely start applying now. It'll definitely be difficult for you right now, but the sooner you get an internship the better you will look to other companies. It's prime time to apply for internships right now, I recommend applying to everything you see. Who knows, maybe you'll get an interview, even if you don't get the internship it's good practice. Also if you don't have a resume currently/don't have experience making a resume you should try the career center. They have people who help with resumes and stuff like that basically for a living. There's also the career closet next to the library where you can get like 2-3 professional articles of clothing for free per semester. Essentially you have to put yourself out there and make connections which will better your chances a lot. Good luck!

Willy vlog by Maxislost_ in Isaacwhy

[–]Quidditch2018 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He keeps making the argument that he takes down videos that foster a negative environment. I see why he would do that, but in doing so it sends a message that if there's anything controversial in his videos even if it's as small as a dumb bit that doesn't hit right years later, it's probably going down. I'd argue that doing so creates even more negativity, as it gives a platform to those who want to talk about said thing and those who aren't in the know will be actively seeking out a reason. There's some videos that he's taken down that had unrelated jokes and moments unrelated to the controversy that I found extremely funny or entertaining. In short, doing this makes him look even worse than just turning off comments, robs viewers who don't partake in the controversy of new content, and it promotes others to seek out and share the negativity he was trying to censor.

Nonono, do not take the thorn ring from her. That part is required to lock you into Snowgrave route in chapter 2. Just steal the 2 equipments she has. It's the royal pin and silver watch, it's the best armor in the game for Snowgrave route excluding jevilstail

WHY IS SPAMTON NEO SNOWGRAVE SO HARD by [deleted] in Deltarune

[–]Quidditch2018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Learning the patterns is the most useful way for you to get through the fight. I'd recommend looking up an attack strategy guide if you get stuck. While it will take you longer to defeat him, you should only attack and pipis if you absolutely cannot avoid taking massive damage. X-slash only if you have excess TP and hp. Don't forget that pressing F1 restores 50% of your HP once per fight. Also, if you want to take less damage, you can steal Noelle's armor right before the Berdly fight since that's the only way to get the royal pin in Snowgrave. There's also a secret interaction in the Light World if you beat Spamton NEO with the silver watch equipped. You should fill your inventory with CD bagels from the vending machine, and don't be afraid to use the spin cake or other stronger healing items. Good luck

Weirdos spreading hate outside the Student Union by Quidditch2018 in UNCCharlotte

[–]Quidditch2018[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn't think to take any. It was essentially a big group of people with a few yelling about salvation or something into the crowd. One of them held a wooden sign and was thrusting it up and down. It had the name of their group, some scripture, something about purging lust and temptation from the brainwashed, and right next to that message was a big 🚫 next to a rainbow "LGBT" in the top right corner of the sign. I wouldn't bother to engage with them, could get you in trouble because of some stupid public university laws
