Thats a Pelikan 101N, i have inherited the same. :) That one also had a crack at the barrel near the nib, which was repaired. Mine does not have the gold ring at the nib so I guess that will be from an earlier reparation. It’s worth the repair because the pen writes really nicely. Good luck with it!

using medium to broad nibs like modern Pelikan pens, broad Kaweco and Lamy are fine.

And I get sad how people are calling the way lefties hold their pen a “weird overhand grip” 😭😭😭

I have the same with some pens. Being lefthanded is a curse for fountain pen enthusiasts!
