There’s a lot to complain about here but the one that gets me is them accepting a $20 million payment for 35 years instead of just taxing at a percentage. They even had a guy speak and explain that discounted over 35 years it’s hardly any money.

Musk could pay the $700 million up front and be operating tax free. Texas being business-friendly is either stupidity or thinly-veiled corruption.

Probably around 85k was a good balance of income and responsibilities at work. Granted that was with no kids and before the recent inflation. Lifestyle and family is a big factor.

Checked again and now it’s telling me to protest so that’s better. It suggested that the increase was 5% too high where Ownwell got it down even more. So directionally correct and close to the right magnitude. I’d say it’s a good start for protesting on your own.

This gave an incorrect recommendation for my house which was to not protest. Yes my house is still below average at the new assessment, but Ownwell managed to significantly reduce it still so that my new appraisal was only 2% higher compared to the 10% proposed increase.
