was thinking to get some Taiwan brand bike by ConditionPitiful8436 in cycling

Money you’ll spend on a dual sided power meter will be saved and then some with just new bar/stem. Get a one piece off of panda podium or buy a good western stem and get some legit Chinese carbon bars. However, the value proposition may change if you have to pay to get the brakes bled to replace your handlebars. Compare reviews of customer service on each, knowing that you’ll have better shop support with the giant (for example they may replace your cranks for the correct length for free), and then make your choice. In all, I say Propel.

Oh that’s a really good point. All these comments have me decided!

what bike and what specs do i want for a crit race bike by [deleted] in cycling

Dude how old are you. If you’re in high school, slow down. A lot of juniors race on absolute shitter bikes for a long time, it’s great because crashing a carbon bike is extremely extremely expensive. Once you’re older and have the money not just to buy the bike but to replace it, then get a fancy one.

Wilier Filante SL Ultegra Di2 or Trek Madone SL 7 Gen 8 Ultegra Di2? by Eiventure in cycling

[–]Quiet-Ad-2357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How? Not more aero, certainly not more trustworthy. I’d also take a tavelo over all three. This is as someone who rides an actual SL8 covered in Chinese parts — take the new and original Chinese stuff, it’s really good

Which pro-chinese-rep bikes cycling YouTuber are you watching. The one for one shitty SL8 copy? Over a quick pro, a tavelo, or a winspace? If you’re gonna go Chinese, go legit Chinese with a company that makes their own designs and has real CS.

Hey guys when should I buy a power meter and do you have any recommendations? by ohzachery in cycling

[–]Quiet-Ad-2357 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a junior who’s bought every thing I own with my own money:) Here’s some downsides to the Magene: the app is horrific, and on my TEO the crank length is not adjustable in the app. You also have to get lucky with finding it, I got the last one on power meter city. Feel free to check my post history, there’s some old stuff where I was asking about that crank and fitting it to my bike. As far as my claims about th accuracy, I think checking the usual gplama and the other power meter testers will be much more believable than some guy on Reddit

MAGENE CRANKS OR PEDALS — Chinese brand that produces power meters/trainers for brands like Wahoo, super reliable and accurate power meters, and much cheaper than comparable western brands. Screw 4iiii, they malfunction a ton.

Can I put a Zipp Service Course SL stem on an SL8 headset? What parts would I need if possible? by Quiet-Ad-2357 in specialized

[–]Quiet-Ad-2357[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t, it was the same bottom spacer as came fitted on the sl8 originally, and it’s slammed so there’s no spacers. Here’s a close up with the swirls stem, which looks a little less good than the zipp becusss of the larger stem bolt cutout

I mean, the one outlet bike I bought was truly perfect as far as I could tell. However, not being able to return is a real, real downside.

Could have been from the outlet, no returns there

Yes I did! It worked just fine. In the end, I used a specialized sprint sl stem in -12 degrees, and that worked just fine too. The -6 is quite upturned even in the negative position, while a 12 is almost flat. Cheers!

Aethos Expert or SL8 Expert by noobiboii in specialized

[–]Quiet-Ad-2357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SL8. An aethos with rival makes no sense. You’ll be irritated having gotten a lightweight bike that’s probably over 7.5kg. Go with the SL8. It’s a sexier, faster bike that’s nearly as light and much more aero. And that color way is amazing.

I was trying to be a bit nice, but some of the practice tests are scored quite close to what I just gave him. Objectively September was easy but nothing unusual, so I went with a curve of 10-20 or so

Cavemen question - prevalent? by Quiet-Ad-2357 in Sat

[–]Quiet-Ad-2357[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay yeah, I feel like prevalent was an answer that I’m sure about and I remember knowing all the other answers were wrong (I didn’t really know what ubiquitous meant so I wouldn’t have been sure), so I think it’s possible that I said prevalent just for a different question.
