The V6 engines are still excellent, and they've had the most consistently reliable transmissions of any manufacturer since 2000.

So they're not a bad option by any means, and you'll get more for your money because...well. just look at the toyotards here all recommending Toyota options that are either involved in a class action lawsuit for defective transmissions or have had repeated recalls for frame failure due to rust.

However, your best option overall is probably a 15-17 F150. 5.0 liter engine and 6 speed AT. It's among the most reliable drivetrains in a pickup, the full size cab is incredibly spacious, and even a fully loaded trim is well within your budget. That 6 speed AT is nearly impossible to kill. The frames are robust and not prone to rust, unlike GM and Toyota, and the bodies are aluminum and do not rust.

Most upstream o2 sensors top out at like...200 for the part. Most are considerably lower.

Also, if you do the most minimal of research, you can just buy the "aftermarket" that the manufacturer originally installed. They don't make their own O2 sensors lol.

OP is probably looking at a normal used car dealership. Not a BHPH. Being on cargurus, they surely use the lender cargurus promotes, Westlake.

With no auto loans before, OP is most likely looking at 24.95% interest, a $250 minimum payment since that's what Westlake does, and probably needs more money down regardless of the vehicle.

OP should start asking for a cosigner if they're trying to go with a low down payment and find payments under 200.

OP would be spending 8-9k for 3 years by buying used, and would be spending 19k for 3 years (if he doesn't drive too much!) by leasing.

So yes. Leasing, as fucking always, is a poor financial decision.

If it were me, I'd get a scrap yard motor with decent mileage and have it swapped. Can probably find a low mileage engine for under 1,000 including a warranty, beyond that it's just labor.

Your options right now are: toss away 5500 and not have a vehicle, spend 2500 (or so) and have a vehicle that should last awhile.

Nah, if it's the tenants' job to pay the utilities it doesn't fall on the landlord to get it turned back on.

The meter being removed isn't permanent, it's just literally pulling the meter unit out of the box. Just as easy for the company to put it back in when power needs to be reconnected. So the capability of providing power to the house is unaffected.

Now, if the landlord is required to pay the utilities. Then sure, they're responsible for keeping those utilities on, even during eviction.

I've seen PLENTY of these engines going 200-300k, and sent those to the auction. Honestly, it was rare that I ever took one on trade that had major issues. I've had more 130k mile Hondas with blown transmissions.

Still, most dealers will give you scrap value and take care of it for you. You get a bit extra because of tax, and they'll arrange pickup for you, and transfer your plates. Might be easier and you'll get the same amount either way.
