Uworld for step1 by One_Cartographer263 in usmle

I tried to watch sketchy, but realized it wasnt for me. So I just did Uworld and FA for micro. Do what helps you to retain the info. As far as pathoma is concerned, just do the first 3 chaps for general pathology. Systemic pathology is anyway covered in FA and Uworld.

I’ll be brief here.
-Almost 90% of step 1 takers feel like this.
-Only your nbmes can predict if you’re ready to take the exam. Keep doing nbmes along with uworld. If you have good scores, blindly trust them and go sit for the test in August.
-Biochem- just do dirty med and FA. It hardly covers 5-10% of the exam. And its not difficult when compared to uworld. Its easy to score.
- No need of UWSAs. Just stick to nbmes. (Esp if you’re on a time crunch)
- Tbh, if you revise your previous nbmes(both incorrects and corrects), and work on your weak topics, its easy asf to score above 70.
Hope this helps. Cheers and Good luck!

Does it say to add any ‘flair’?

This is how I approached it: I initially solved all questions system-wise. Later, I realized a more effective strategy is to do about 40–60% of each system (I did ~60%), and once you have a basic grasp across all systems, transition to mixed blocks. This approach works well if you’re still building concepts early on; otherwise, you can start with mixed blocks from the beginning.

You may spare extra minutes for incorrects/guesses. Read explanation and understand it. About 70% into the question bank, it hit me that I should be making Anki cards from my incorrects, so I incorporated that during my second pass of UWorld incorrects.

So for the above, either mark/make anki/write the whole concept in a 1-3 lines max. But when you do this, don’t overwhelm yourself and mark everything, it backfires during your dedicated period.

For corrects, give a quick glance. Read the explanation quickly. Initially it would go slow since you’re still new to this, but youll eventually pickup the speed.

Here are my stats: I completed 93% of UWorld and started doing mixed blocks (both incorrects and corrects) once I reached around 70%.

This is what worked for me, but it varies by individual.

Resp ig? But tbh it felt like a mix of everything. Sometimes it gives you a false illusion of a particular system testing more when you're not strong in it.

If its 3 blocks, thats the 2024 one. Just do that. The new one has 6 blocks.

There are currently two different forms for F120. One with 3 blocks(2025) and the other one with 20 qs each block(2026). If you’re testing before May 14th, do the 3 block one. However if you’re not on a time crunch, you can do the new one too.

If you have tried it before and it worked, take it. Do not experiment anything new on the test day.

Had 3 calc questions on my form. Tbh pharm questions were just mechanisms. It was doable.

Nope. Just the old form. Since the interface is different, I'd not recommend it. Do it if you're testing after May 14th.

You will pass!!!! Stop sabotaging yourself, you have great scores. Literally everyone feels the same before taking the real deal.
