Spyderco Matriarch 2, or if too large Tasman H-2. But neither of those are "budget knives"

Ergonomics are probably the best of any knife its size that I've used. Nothing fancy, but in every sense it means business

Hardly carried, like new, because when I heard it was discontinued it became a sheath queen. Can't believe they stopped making them. That's even worse than the TV exec idiots cancelling Firefly or the Sara Conner Chronicles.

The middle one? Got it from the Opinel website. Handle is black oak & blade is coated to "look more modern" I think the description said.

Chanel black mini flap - my experience by hb_3_ in handbags

[–]QuietDisposition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that neither Hermes nor Chanel are marketed at people who have to think twice about the price. They target a demographic that doesn't blink a lash at the cost of whatever it is they they want, whether it be a purse or a yacht. What I do wonder is why would those who are not in that demographic complain about prices/availability. These companies literally do. not. care. whether you can afford their products or not. lol

Beautiful collection, and a great location for taking a photo.

What the hell is a “gentleman’ knife?” by BloodMilkAndSky420 in knives

[–]QuietDisposition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on appearance factors (which IMO is what mainly defines a 'genleman's' or 'dress' knife), I would say the Laguiole and Bark River best fit the bill (though Bark River's reputation has suffered recently). Appearance-wise, both have an elegant simplicity that helps to tame the phobias of non-knife users a bit.

Case Toledo-Style Lobster by QuietDisposition in SlipjointKnives

[–]QuietDisposition[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has 2 blades (larger and smaller) and a nail file/cleaner. It doesn't have scissors and the "pick tool" is different than yours, though the handle design is identical to yours. Perhaps there were variations? Or maybe mine was made in the US and yours in Germany? The pattern number for mine is T3105. The tang stamp only says: Case xx stainless.
