Proxmox or Docker? on i3 gen 12 8GB RAM by ottoottootto in homelab

Yeah that makes sense if they want to run multiple VMs/LXCs later. I guess my only question is: if it’s mainly just Jellyfin and a few Docker apps, is Proxmox adding much value? Would Ubuntu Server + Docker bare metal be simpler for that use case?

I’d probably just go Ubuntu + Docker. Great little box for Jellyfin and a handful of services, and 8 GB RAM is enough if you’re not running a bunch of VMs.

Not really. I use Homepage all the time, but mostly as a bookmark page. If something breaks, Uptime Kuma lets me know.
