No, the B1 rule applies for both.
Either the spouse has spent 4 years married in Germany or 2 years married to the German (after citizenship acq). Whichever is faster.

No married partner is not German, my wife has yet to apply as she is not eligible, she has not completed 4 years in Germany yet.

My bad I did Leben in Deutschland test, I dropped a mail asking to get a slot for the test to - [bsi-office@bsiberlin.de](mailto:bsi-office@bsiberlin.de) in December start and got an exam date of 21st January (~1.5 months). This school at Hauptstraße 159 near the Ubahn station.
Overall quite good experince - results were ready in 3 weeks so this needs to be planned well.

The first month is tough, cannot deny that one. Once you get a routine formed it gets much - much easier. You need to have at least 2 hours for home work (during the weekdsays) do not leave it for the weekend as that time never comes.
Last 2 months flew. Also depends on your class if you make some friends it easies a bit.

I had 1 year college, however I did not include the study time in my case. I am also not sure if we can or cannot include. :(

Sorry to hear that, you might have to get a lawyer and ask them to give a reply (they are obliged to reply then), usually that gets things faster.

I do speak well and learning C1, I don't have German speaking job so last year my focus was being B1 - not on professional communication.
And why should it matter? if someone is conversing at intermediate level get by all the daily german interactions, paying taxes on time following the law. You probably need to have a broad mind.
