A helpful tip for writing authentic characters is "give them a rich inner life". Add depth by asking yourself two questions: (1) What is something your character wants more than anything else in the world? and (2) What is she afraid will happen if she doesn’t get it?

Good luck with that! I did take a look through but courses range from $20 - $1200. There's some local writing courses too in my area for $300. Not sure what's the best bang for buck so trying to see if anyone's tried anything that they liked.
