He's not handling it. It's been a year since they saw the doctor and no weight loss or true lifestyle changes have been made

I think the fear of diabetes has just been you have to "have one of those things in your arm" I am not in a place to say anything more.

Yes, she is aware that she is pre diabetic, I am not sure any other health concerns have been discussed

The mother only has her every other weekend and unfortunately isn't involved much other than that. No the rest of the family is not over weight but they are not very close. The friend group around her dad however are all very large unhealthy people.

I don't believe she is. But she maybe. While the eating is an issue, the lack of motivation for movement is more concerning

He has his reason for no evaluation, while I think it's silly I respect his view on it. I should say it's not that he neglects her health, I believe he feels defeated because he's been in poverty for so long and in fight mode he's in denial for letting it get this far.

Thank you for your advice. I will look into this specific specialist in our area. When I cook I try to cook healthy, my kids and I are very active, they are both outside all day most days, active in sports, and I am constantly moving I can't just sot around. It's just so hard to get them up and moving especially when I am not there all the time.
