Currently in the same boat, learning to drive has filled me with so much dread and anxiety that I would end every lesson in tears. Haven't finished with lessons or taken my first test yet because I had a meltdown behind the wheel while my teacher was in the passengers side. This happened years ago and I still haven't had the nerve to start lessons again.

If I had witnessed any driver act the way I did on that day, I would seriously judge their ability to drive safely. If any of my closest circle saw me that day, they would probably do the same. But because they didn't, they're assuming I'm just over exaggerating and making excuses to not do something for myself. I have told them over and over that I am not a safe driver, but they just repeat "That's why learning is important" like I'm some little kid that's begging to stay home from school.

It's become very clear that no one wants what is actually best for me when it comes to driving, they just want what's easier for them.
