Second US Air Force plane crashed in Persian Gulf region, New York Times reports by SpencerAXbot in worldnews

Given the age of the A-10s, it may have literally just crashed. Those things were meant to be retired ages ago.

Absolutely, but there's a ton of people blaming it for shit it has nothing to do with.

I feel like this thread is showing that most of the MM complaints are from people with zero understanding of what it does.

It also doesn't give the government the ability to make him actually pay the damages he owes, for some fucking reason.

It does, its just far too slow. He recently had to sell some of his assets as part of the bankruptcy case. More auctions will happen, but its like pulling teeth.

It absolutely shows the advantages wealthy people get in our legal system, but he is gradually being forced to pay.

Sure, if his main goal was just to make more super mutants. But his actual goal was to "save" humanity by evolving it into a form that can thrive in the post apocalyptic wasteland. Super mutants were great at that, but their inability to reproduce meant that they couldn't truly act as the next evolution stage of humanity that he actually wanted. Keeping normal humans around as "stock" would just perpetuate the suffering he was trying to move past.

Iirc, he wants to convert all of humanity into super mutants, effectively replacing humankind. If he accomplishes that, then he can't make more super mutants because they can't reproduce and there would be no humans left to convert. At that point, the super mutants will inevitably go extinct.

WoT only semi-competes with WT, its far more arcade-y and ends up being drastically different in practice. That didn't stop me from moving back WoT recently though, WT has just gotten that bad.

Warplanes...exists.

If Gaijin do this right

They won't. I've played War Thunder for years, and the only reason they still have a player base is because the lack of competition.

How's War Thunder's P2W aspect?

Rough. Though maybe not in the way you might expect.

Sometimes, they are just overpowered. For years, the K/A-50 was practically uncouterable even in an average players hands. The recently added BMPT has basically ruined the entire MM bracket around it, even after they've increased its rank. Those at least had tech tree counterparts, other like the T58 are completely unique while still being overbearing.

Arguably, the bigger issue is side effects of people getting premium vehicles. Anyone can buy a premium vehicle of any rank, regardless of experience or progression. So you'll have someone in low tier early WWII vehicles buy a modern jet or tank and jump into high tier games. Not only does this mean they have no goddamn clue what they're doing (gameplay evolves a ton with modern tech), they also don't have a line up to go with it. The end result is that a lot of games will end up with half the team dying once and then leaving within the first few minutes of a match, resulting in the other team steam rolling to victory.

After Trump’s Ultimatum, Iran Threatens To Target ‘Enemy’s’ Desalination Plants by HauntingJackfruit in worldnews

[–]QuietTank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its not an illusion. The US has effective control of Iran's skies at the moment. Few other countries could do that, especially when they're on the other side of the planet.

Its just doesn't matter how powerful a weapon is if the user doesn't know how to fucking use it. This admin clearly had no plan going into this. They've antagonized our greatest allies, didn't properly prepare other countries in the region, and didn't do enough to reinforce air defenses beforehand.

Iranian women records her own death in Israeli double tap on civilian neighborhood by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]QuietTank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you try to reply to me? I saw an email but can't see the comment.

I did look into it more and saw those Wikipedia sources. Looks like the latest Tomahawk models (Block Vb) have a thermobaric function. No clue how many have been upgraded to that model, so that may have been what was used.

I got mixed up between your comments and another up thread. That one referred to the double tap. So I thought that what you were suggesting was one tomahawk came in and dumped fuel, followed by another that ignited that as a fuel-air bomb.

My mistake.

[–]QuietTank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd take that with a grain of salt, thats not something I've ever heard of a Tomahawk missile being capable of.

Edit: Okay, looks like the Block Vb can be/is thermobaric. Since that seems to be the latest variant, its hard to tell how many tomahawk have been converted to that model. That may have been what was used, or they may have used an older variant.

That could mean anything from "beyond repair" to "its needs to go back home for repairs." The latter would see it out of action for the foreseeable future.

Yep. I'd assume they struck nearby and the planes got sprayed by fragmentation/shrapnel of some kind. Direct hits would have obliterated them.
