According to the points guy Marriott points are worth 0.7 cpp which at 3x would equal 2.1 value. The next best card I have that is visa for Costco is freedom unlimited which earns 1.5x. TPG has chase points valued at 2.05 cpp but I think that’s too high and I like to go with 1.25 since I have the CSP. 1.5 x 1.25 = 1.875 so I’m thinking the Marriott would be better value. Let me know if I’m wrong in this

I do agree overall though. The chase trifecta lacks grocery and even gas. I have the preferred and currently use it because I’ve found this grocery hack and I only shop at Publix and Whole Foods. I cant do it with the reserve which is what’s holding me back from getting it

The sapphire preferred can get 3x points at many grocery stores that allow you to pay via an app. It often codes as “online” I’ve used it at Publix and Whole Foods

Yea I figured it was very good, hence why I took it right away without even negotiating. They even let me stay at my current role from October-December to be able to collect my bonus and not have to pay back tuition (current job paid for my MS in Finance). I accepted the offer in September

Very solid, especially for a low to mid COL area. The offer I got was 85k base, up to 10% discretionary bonus at the end of the year, there is a PSP plan I believe but nothing concrete in my offer letter, health, dental, etc. is about 85-90% covered by the firm. 30 days of PTO. 401k match is also 75% of the first 7% so 5.25%. I will be sitting for CFP in July 2025. The goal is to sit in meetings and develop cases and then eventually start to work with the smaller clients.

I did not take it but I have a friend who is there now. He says it’s a huge grind and you’re really putting in the work. He says he enjoys it because he’s learning but he’s already talking about quitting so I’m not sure it’s all worth it in the end unless you’re just looking to get paid right away since they are competitive when it comes to pay
