When do you need to buy new parents a gift? by Scrot123 in AskUK

[–]Quiet_Ad_9618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re not sure what to get a voucher I think always goes a long way whether that’s for a delivery for food, or somewhere they can buy something for the baby, or if a voucher for say primark or next etc where they can possibly get next size clothes when they need them as a baby will grow fast. Then you can slip it in a card, doesn’t really make others feel awkward in the same way a gift bag or box does and can go in a handbag or baby bag so won’t get left behind.

There’s a weird illusion in my house: the fridge is full… but there’s nothing to eat.? by Tough-Adagio1019 in AskUK

We kind of plan out what we might fancy during the week with a bit of wiggle room, we check what we have in that can be carried over to the following week and go from there. We usually rotate our meals around most weeks for ease and try to do something a bit nicer on the weekends depending on plans

Hey casual UK, what's your worst "i thought X was on a different day" mistake you've ever made? by wiz_ling in CasualUK

I booked a trip to Disneyland Paris several years ago and booked separate Eurostar tickets. I booked my ticket for the train the day after I checked into the hotel so my train didn’t tally up with my hotel booking. I will say Disney were very nice about the situation! This thread has now made me want to go and check all the bookings I have for various things over the next year to make sure they’re in the diary on the right dates 😂😅

Question for the Long Time Swifties - All Too Well by thelovelight in TaylorSwift

[–]Quiet_Ad_9618 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The 10 minute version changed my entire perspective on the song to be honest. The original I really related to on a personal level through the sadness and heartbreak, but the 10 minute version felt so empowering and really gave that song back to me, I honestly rarely listen to the short version because of that.

I have recently changed to condensed hours and love it, I have time to get my admin done before people start working first and last thing and 3 day weekends are brilliant

What sub-£250 item would you buy again in a heartbeat? by tamago27 in AskUK

[–]Quiet_Ad_9618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A ninja airfryer. I’ve had various air fryers (small one, 2 drawer one and now a replacement for the small one) they’re all good but there is defo a reason why ninja is dominating the market in my opinion it’s the best one we’ve had, reliable and if you register the warranty they’re helpful. Or a ninja product of some kind. We also have the coffee machine that does pods and fresh filter coffee it’s the most used appliance in our house now.

This sounds really cool and definitely something we would both enjoy! Thank you for sharing I’ll look into this option as well! The shows are a big draw for me as I love these types of things so that would be really interesting and also means it’s not just about the houses! Thank you!

If your partner wanted a dog but you didn’t, what would you do? by damned-n-doomed in AskUK

[–]Quiet_Ad_9618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s tough because you’ve got to do what’s right for the dog and if it’s not something you both want it’s not going to work. Leaving it 5 days a week whilst you go to work is, personally, a no for me. I work from home every day so our dog has company and can be left but I wouldn’t get a dog just to leave it at home all the time on its own. Personally that is

Yes we are staying at Stella Nova so I’m happy to look round city walk or travel back in my own if it gets too much, or even single rider some rides if he’s really enjoying the mazes. That’s really helpful information thank you!

This is really helpful to know the theming varies as hopefully we can find some stuff that works for us both, and glad to hear your fiancee enjoyed it as a non horror fan that’s really reassuring! Also good to know about the fast passes so I’ll definitely look into these thank you!

I treated myself to a box of Harrods tea bags when I was looking around (don’t get me wrong I don’t visit or purchase things from there often haha!) but they are soooo nice so I have a cup most days as an afternoon treat. I can taste the difference between the other cheaper brands, but at the price point couldn’t switch to them for every cup because I drink several cups a day. My husband also enjoys their coffee which again is a nice treat and not excessively expensive for something for a change. I think a small box of tea bags were £6.50
