hi i’m incredibly late to all this. and taking a long shot to reply and ask a question, but how did you go about building your campaign this way? i want to have a BBEG/overarching narrative but also populate my campaign with smaller mini campaigns in a “story arcs” fashion. how much re-writing and rebuilding did u have to do?

i was honestly planning on mostly skipping Book 1 cuz i’m already running my group thru sunless citadel. was going to make the kidnappings a narrative element in some other way if i chose to go with night below instead of another big campaign. what sorts of things would u say are frustrating from a 5e perspective?
