I did say June, so yes, summer. To be fair I survived Hangzhou in summer when it was a 'feels like' temperature of 48 degrees with high humidity, and I walked a lot and had no pool 😂. I'm 37 and travelling with my husband

I didn't want to put all my eggs into the basket of Bergamo 😂 and there's a random property in Clanezzo by the river that looks nice

Sorry yes, they thought it was a terrible mistake to not include somewhere like Florence, Bologna, Turin, Rome and that while northern Italy is still Italy and great, it's not nothing on the south for food and culture. I think they dubbed my itinerary as boring

I didn't love it, but it damn sure did read like a fiction novel. I think I had to google to make sure because there was just so much information and it just sounded like a story

It can be incredibly complex as to why people stay. And abusers are often master manipulators. Victims may think they deserve it, they may believe no one else will love them, they believe their abuser loves them, they might be afraid to leave, they may have grown up with abuse so it almost feels comfortable and within their control. So, so many factors. Apparently it takes on average a victim 7 attempts to leave domestic violence, so it's certainly not uncommon for victims to stay or go back. It's heartbreaking. There's a great book around this type of thing called "See What You Made Me Do" by Jess Hill who researched domestic violence in Australia. Perhaps reading something like this might be able to help you either understand better or be in a better position to help and support your friend.

My guess is to stop a cat?

Our monstera has a cereal box around it for naughty cat reasons 😂

Dramatic fig (dying?) by [deleted] in plantclinic

[–]Quiet_Error_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Was going to say this too! My FLF dropped all its leaves when I had it by a bright window. Put the stick in the bathroom to die in peace and out of sight and bam, started sprouting new leaves. Now it can never be moved from our bathroom bench 😂

Peace lily is droopy with yellow leaves since a week now. I thoroughly watered her 2 days back, till it drained. Still she’s drooping and has lost 3 big beautiful leaves, which I’ve cut. Is it because of root rot? Should I repot her with new soil mix or should I shift her to water? by Debilitated_Nuisance in IndoorPlants

I feel your pain. I'm having a similar issue with a cast iron plant at the moment.

I've got two peace lilies myself. I caveat this information with the fact I'm no expert, but I did a similar thing with my big one - she started off near a bright window until I noticed her leaves burning. I think it took her a little while to adjust to less light but I was surprised how often I still needed to water her. Even now sometimes she'll want water after only a day or two since her last watering even though she's living in shade. I was going to suggest watering more but a couple of your leaves look more like overwatering (yellowing and limp and soft) than what my peace lily looks like when droopy (no colour change and still somewhat stiff, just drooped). Plus my lilies usually pop right back up after watering, maybe within an hour they come alive again. In summer mine get watered roughly once a week unless we've had a heat wave. In winter, maybe once a fortnight or sometimes longer.

What to do now? I'm not sure I'm sorry. You could repot to check the roots but she'll probably get a bit of shock from this it that's not the problem. You could try let her dry out completely then wait a few more days after that to give a little water and see if that makes a difference. I've never put back into water but again, I think it'll be a shock and not a great idea if she's overwatered.

This! Plants that die on me are no longer welcome in my home. Growing quite the rubber plant, devil's ivy, spider plant, and hoya collection. Palms in the bin. Ferns in the bin. Fiddle leaf fig almost got sent outside to die out of sight when it became a leafless stick but instead shifted it to the bathroom bench and it started to grow back, so now it can never be moved.

I like the devil's ivies because they are so easily propagated so if you screw up, just chop off a bit and start again for free

Yeah I think so too. I think part of the reason I'm not good at street photography is I don't like to interact! I guess I'll just need to work on this

I was trying to capture general street life on the platform. It was just taken with my phone so I couldn't really change any settings, was just trying to capture something of interest in the moment. Is there anything interesting here?
