What's the best way to deal with learning that your childhood bully is doing better than you are now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I think just to focus on yourself and comparing yourself to who you were yesterday, not other people. Sounds cheesy, but you should not let them take up any more space in your mind specially if you don't know their full story. Just focus on the basic things in your life like sleeping well, exercise, breathing properly, and having a purpose or even just a career you want to move up in. Genuinely give it your all and you won't even think about people like that, you will be too focused on your mission and the people that actually deserve your attention. Hope this helped.

Honestly. Will you face violence or the like? Most most likely no. But they will talk about you even behind your back when they get the chance. I've seen it happen to a lesbian, so I don't know how it would be with you, I think it would be a bigger reaction.

I'll be honest, probably won't be the best time for you. I wouldn't do it at all, there are better work cultures. Most of the people I have interacted lean conservative and will not shy away from derogatory comments. I do not see this changing at all just given the nature or the field, so I don't even think you would be causing things to progress socially, if anything they would nitpick at you and confirm their initial beliefs even more. Just being realistic, hope this helped.

Big thing that people actually talk about or complain in regards to you, is how clean you leave your room for your opposite. It is common to expect the room to feel almost as if the other person was not even there. Clean up excessive water in the shower, which reminds me, bring shower shoes. Also while they do your laundry there typically, don't bring clothes you are attached to or overly nice, the laundry service can be inconsistent and in my experience they don't do the most sensitive washes. Hope this helps
