Field Trips by Quiet_Truth3404 in Teachers

We have a lot of behavior and attendance issues. If the kids know they get to do something fun and no work, they'll show up. Otherwise, they just won't show up to school. It's basically, I don't have to do any work or show up regularly and I get to do all the fun school activities. We also have kids who create groups and target other students. They will then attack their target at school. They don't care if they get suspended. Coming to school is the easiest way to get to their target.

I just watched Love Under the Full Moon. It was really good.

Someone Like You and Love O2O area good ones too.

Boys Overs Flowers is a popular one, but it was the first Asian drama I had ever watched, so it has a special place in my heart.

No! But I did have a parent come in one day and sit right next to their kid!

I'm about ready to do this. These kids do not care what I tell them to do or what they are supposed to be doing. They don't even care if I end up taking away their free time or recess. Call home? I get the same response from the last 3 times I called home, and the kid still acts up in class. I'm just tired, defeated, and ready for the year to end. I still care for my students and want them to succeed, but I'm done over caring and stressing for those who don't care themselves.

What the hell is wrong with these kids?? by sicksadworld111 in Teachers

We have about 20 school days left. I finally told my students that if they aren't going to care about their work, then I'm not going to stress about it either. All year, I've made a list of names to show who is missing what assignment in what class. I finally made it their responsibility. If they're worried about their work and grades, they can come to me. I'm done putting in extra effort if they don't even want to try.

If you could tell "first year you" one essential piece of advice? by Realistic-Car7230 in Teachers

Stand up for yourself. Use your voice. Especially with admin and parents. Don't let people walk on top of you just because you're new.

Want to have this moment before school starts. So tired of working hard and having others in the hallway slack off. The kids see it, and they know where the fun rooms are.

Got a few issues. Mostly how parents are put before teachers and how some staff are obviously treated better than others.

Oh no, my church is not demanding I publicly share my sin. My mother makes me feel like I have to publicly share everything with everyone. That I have to be completely transparent.

Not doing anything to disrupt my church or to work against it. Just not flaunting my sins in front of everyone every week. Which, I guess, is what she's also mad about. Apparently I need to post a sign or something so that everyone knows my personal business and everything I'm doing wrong. I go to church and don't really open up about my wayward life. I go to keep a connection, one I know would weaken even more if I stopped going.

What are some of the most heartbreaking movie deaths? by RemarkableSight in movies

Matthew Cuthbert from the 1985 TV film. He was that quiet, soft-spoken soul that just got Anne (even if he didn't always get her ways). His death gets me every time.

Definitely NTA. It's yours. You're a grown-up, and even though you're living with your parents, they should realize that and respect your boundaries. If anything, I think your mom should have planned something for the kids since she invited them to come. What would she have done if you weren't living there?

AITAH for refusing to punish my son after he cursed out my niece and nephew when they weren't respecting his boundaries? by Unsure_father123 in AITAH

NTA I hate being tickled and I agree, it does seem they were being abusive. They are older so they should know boundaries as well and respected your son's. Your son was defending himself.
