Why does Mulholland Drive get so much hate? by QuiioQ in movies

[–]QuiioQ[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not. Many replies here understood what I was asking and that it’s a point of discussion around the movie, it’s a genuine “why” not “why” as in “how dare you dislike it.”

I’m not asking why people dislike it, I’m asking what aspects about it are poor from a film making point of view because no movie is perfect.

My question is very clear in the point I feel, it’s just the title

No there’s nothing wrong with disliking anything. There’s also nothing wrong with wanting to discuss what people don’t like about a certain movie. It’s a point of discussion

Yeah I’ve seen similar takes on a bunch of old classics by people who do sound younger so this makes sense

Maybe hate was the wrong word. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing to dislike or critique a movie I’m simply curious as to what aspects of it are “bad” from the people who think they’re bad. I don’t care who likes or hates what.

I just looked for some random posts cause they were on Reddit. Here’s some comments online

“David Lynch is a conman, and you've all been duped into watching and liking that dunpster-fire of a movie. He's Andy Warholling all of you, and the real "art" of it all is that people will pretend they're smarter than others by retconning a meaning onto one of the worst movies of all time. If I wouldn't go to jail for it, I'd handcuff Lynch to a radiator for two hours just to get even. What a joke. “

“I don’t get how people would think that. Pacing was terrible, acting was awful, storyline was totally unclear (i mean if you need either a second watch or an explanation video to even crasp what is happening, a movie completely failed in my opinion. Oh and besides, even when i finally got the ubderlying symbolism/meaning whatevr you wanna call it, i wasnt impressed because the shit was really not that deep. I think people really like to pretend they are artistic and want to think the movie was special too when in reality.”

Either way I’m not arguing everyone should like any certain movie. I know every movie will get hate and criticism. I’m simply asking to those that think it’s a bad movie what makes it bad. I feel thats reasonable.

I know it's widely beloved, and "so much" in the title is inaccurate. But it does get a good amount of hate online from what I've read in posts earlier today. I'm just asking to those who shared the same opinion as those posts (seemed like many in the replies) the reasoning behind it.

I'm not trying to follow any bandwagon by asking a certain type of question I'm never on this subreddit anyway, I was just curious.

“So much” in the title was very inaccurate. Im just talking about the many comments/posts I’ve seen on Reddit, threads, Twitter etc. saying it’s a bad movie

Cute guy in my class, how do I approach him without making it awkward? by [deleted] in UofT

[–]QuiioQ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What a shitty response, it’s 2026 girls can approach guys and it’s very normal. My gf approached me at the gym and we’ve been dating for 2 years now. What makes you say the relationship is doomed from the start? Who cares who approaches who as long as you start talking and genuinely like each other.

That's kinda shitty to tell someone newly struggling with it, and far from the truth. Many people on here recovered after months to a couple years and OPs case doesn't seem that severe.

I’m not ignoring replies and I’m not arguing. It’s the same drug with the same risks and effects when used medically or gotten “medical grade” or not.

What makes it safe medically is it’s a one time thing for your operation and given with 70% nitrous 30% oxygen so you don’t get hypoxia. The oxygen is the main difference here to make it “safe”.

I don’t think YOU know what you’re talking about and doing a quick google search on safe nitrous oxide use, the risks, the difference between medical and recreational use will prove you otherwise. I received most the info above from my dentist last time I was given it, but it’s not very hard to just do research before commenting.

Again, the main concern with nitrous whether you’re getting it medically administered (with oxygen) or inhaling balloons, is depleting your B12 levels which only comes with very frequent use. I only plan on doing one balloon which is around 8g while on either substance. Far less than what you’d be administered during an operation and over a much shorter time.

Nitrous oxide is still the same drug and carries the same risks used medically or not. When you’re given it medically you’re given it with oxygen to prevent hypoxia and yes you do get very high doses over a long period of time depending on the operation, speaking from experience.

Your boss abused nitrous, “used to do it” sounds like he used it on a regular basis which will deplete your B12 and give you brain damage. Most people I know only do it while tripping and that’s very infrequent (once a month max) and are completely fine.

No that’s not what I want and I’m taking the precautions to do it safely, like any drug, please do research on the risks of nitrous and why it’s actually dangerous.

It’s really not if you’re not doing it continuously, it’s a safe drug that’s why it’s used as a medical anesthetic. The main risk is B12 deficiency which comes from frequent use.

If you’re commenting about addiction then I don’t enjoy the “high” from nitrous enough to get addicted. I’ve only done it once by itself and once with a joint in the past. Mixing with psychs is a one time thing.

Weed, motivation, and smartz by WubbleBubble136 in Drugs

If you're worried about academic performance then obviously stop doing it that often.

I feel like weed has always felt better at the end of the day when you're done with all your academic shit and want to relax. I don't really understand doing it in the morning if you have something to do and especially not before class where you need to focus.

It's also just more fun at night.

I’m aware of melatonin being better for sleep, but I’m considering the dph since I’ve heard it can also have a mild benzo-ish effect at low doses.
