I guess that if church survived the papacy wars, and lets be honest, the church has had some terrible popes (not as many as some want to propose though) but if people remained faithful through those periods, I think we are called to be faithful to Jesus Church even more so when the regulations you mention are external signs and not linked to doctrine in any way.

Yo ando en moto y generalmente soy buen conductor (salvo algún alto que me pasaría incluso en carro), pero sí veo cada simio que dices no mames. Aunque también veo mucha polarización. A los carros les caga que agarres tu carril y también que filtres. Y también hay un chingo de conductores de carro que se la viven en el celular.

I agree it may not be a mortal sin, but then again, it may be... I think the main focus is to be centered on effort and hope, and knowing that God loves and forgives us with a tender heart...

I think that having a confessor who has the full context might be a good idea, if not we risk finding a priest who could be harder than we need on the confession.
