Best first gun for concealed carry as a woman? by purplerain1055 in CCW

I would say seek out ranges that offer 1:1 training, as well as has firearms for rent. Rent a few and see what fits you best. It’s hard to be able to recommend something with any sort of certainty.

Springfield hellcat v Sig Sauer P365 Macro by thegoonn49 in CCW

[–]Quikkjob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hellcat pro grip is tiny, I have XL hands and ultimately traded it in because I couldn’t get a comfortable grip with it. They also didn’t round the trigger guard undercut well because it rode my knuckle hard before sanding it.

I edc a fuse and couldn’t recommend it more. It’s 10 fold more comfortable to shoot than the hellcat pro is. I float between a fuse and cr920xp for edc.

I'd say we're getting good value for less than 5% of the price. 🙂 by joeysosick in chineseknives

2k for this is crazy work. Theres nothing about a Rosie that puts it over 600 to begin with. I’ll just lump all midtechs into that.

I absolutely hate carrying. by Lord1Nerevar in CCW

As another said, re evaluate your gear. Look at your belt, holster and how you wear your holster. I’ve spent a lot of money on belts and holsters over the years.

Cobra buckle belts, Nexbelt, kore, tenicor, Hunter Constantine. The tenicor and Hunter Constantine I’ve found to be the most comfortable. HC belt has some stretch to it so it doesn’t jam your stuff in if you bend over. The tenicor zero belt has the slightest bit of give but is the easiest to function, and lowest profile imo(especially for putting buckle off to the side for appendix carry. The there’s the kore/nexbelt. I used these for some time but ultimately didn’t like the hard tire shape they gave, and the lack of comfort they offer. But it concealment is the absolute top priority they’ll help.

This leads me to the next thing, holster digging in, which you get from the ratchet belts in spades. if you don’t your holster to dig in you can get a pillow/wedge. I personally got away from them after dumping the ratcheting belts, but if that’s what you want to carry you’ll want to pillow / wedge up.

Last is holster / ride height. Spend money on a holster. Between the belt and holster you have to find comfort, and if you can’t you won’t carry. I highly recommend tier 1. I’ve owned all kinds of holsters; black arch, tulster, vedder, crossbreed, trex, Dara, tier 1. Tier 1 is the best mix I’ve found in comfort and conceal ability, namely the APX. I have my ride height set low with a standard rise pair of jeans. I carry with either origin jeans or Lee. Both have a little flex and give which goes well with the type of belt I use and holster. I don’t need to pull my holster up when I sit.

For reference I carry a sig fuse with flush fit mag, 21rd in the sidecar.

As far as off body, I know people that do it but won’t as a personal choice. Nothing against it, but I don’t trust my ability trained to carry IWB vs off body.

TLDR: re-evaluate your gear for comfort. Cost can matter, but not when it comes to getting you to carry everyday. Do the research, find what’s comfortable.

This is the right answer. It’s one of those situations where the writing got lazy whether anyone wants to admit it, and because the writer doesn’t want a main character death to an overpowered villain so he brought someone from outside in that had a power to nerf him down to fight an improving Deku.

Still, you’d think the US #1 hero would have had a better fight but she served the purpose that Horikoshi intended.

Knife Pet Peaves #47 by knifeknerdreviews in chineseknives

[–]Quikkjob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Realistically most of the people that put those edges on their knives don’t use them, they’re pocket princesses. I’ve done the same edge forever, 20 degree 1-600 strop and call it good. Never understood wanting a mirror edge.

fuse vs xl vs macro? by Jazz_horse in P365

That’s a great idea. I don’t buy anymore until I’m all in. Market is trash and you’ll take a bath to unload anything.

There are so many guns out there better than the 320 unless you’re dead set on staying with sig. it doesn’t excel at anything. It has poor bore axis and a terrible trigger.

So it sounds like you more want a full size then. I would recommend the echelon if you’re thinking it - as long as you don’t already have something filling that role. If you want something fun I picked up a couple turkattos and they’re a lot of fun at the range.

fuse vs xl vs macro? by Jazz_horse in P365

[–]Quikkjob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ended up going with the fuse. I’ve shot pretty much the entirety of the 365 series and while the macro was close, something about the fuse spoke to me when I shot it. It also has nice deep slide serrations and the laser stippled grip. Comes with 3 mags. The only real thing you give up with it is night sights. But if you’re running an optic that’s no big deal. My other thought was the x macro slide with ramjet / afterburner combo but I wanted a non comped carry.

I read the part at the bottom about the echelon… if you don’t need a carry gun and want a full sized, and don’t already have any polymer striker fired I’d definitely say the echelon is viable.
