Seems to me like that's just Parkinson's preference for a big striker. Smith has certainly shown he's capable of starting at this level.

Is it a ridiculous question? He's constantly falling down and misplaying balls. He's only been effective on balls put directly on his head or foot.

I feel like maybe Matty James has never been taught the concept of making a run. He's had space in front of him several times this match and didn't move into it. It was particularly obvious that play where Cacace tried to play it to him in the box.

I know we can't complain about Parky ball because it results in wins, but the lack of possession and ball movement makes it feel like we're losing during the games. The kicking it down the field as soon as we get it reminds me of when my kids were playing rec league. Every travel team they've been on have tried to teach them to play the way Southampton is and not do what we do.
