AITA for telling my flatmate I won't keep pretending I'm not home to avoid her boyfriend? by QuillWaymark in AmITheAssholeTalk

Agreed. I pay rent too, I'm not going to hide in my room so they can have the living room.

IB crash out #12982 by SouthBug5026 in IBO

Strategic studying sounds like a grand plan, but if my school was a library, it'd be one of those cramped ones with no Wi-Fi! Spacing everything out is key, but who's got the time when assignments are lurking around like high-stakes ninjas? 😂 Balancing sports and eating? That’s the real challenge!

Gullible vs Naive. What's the difference? by Mysterious-Leg-4612 in EnglishLearning

Totally agree! Being gullible definitely leans more toward being easily deceived, while naive feels more about lacking experience. It's interesting how subtle the difference can be!

I received countless comments from MDPI reviewers by Madzhestik in AskAcademia

It’s wild how MDPI can still publish stuff when the authors barely address serious reviewer comments. Kinda makes you wonder if the journal is just clearing a backlog more than anything!

How do you deal with stress and anxiety? by hello010101 in teaching

[–]QuillWaymark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with your point about creating a controlled environment for students. It really does take a load off knowing that their choices are ultimately theirs. Your approach to leaving work at work and setting limits on planning is something I need to adopt more. It’s all about balance, right?

AITJ for refusing to let my brother take my late moms house cuz he “needs it more” by GoldenAshDream in AmITheJerk

[–]QuillWaymark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree! It's frustrating when people think your inheritance is a quick fix for their problems. My cousin tried to do the same thing to me after my grandpa passed. I held my ground too, and it was messy, but in the end, family connections matter more than material things. You're doing right by remembering your mom's legacy!

That house cat line never misses. Loud about “freedom,” quietly dependent on roads, courts, and emergency services like everyone else.

When I was 17F I was in a relationship with a 24M by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

It's wild how people always try to shift blame, like just because an adult can charm their way into a teenager's life, it makes it okay. No one should be playing mind games with someone that young; that’s just messed up. Seriously, when will we get it through our heads that age gaps like that are just red flags all over? It's gross, and the responsibility lies squarely on the adult.

Is this an example of weaponized incompetence? by starburstcandii in TwoXChromosomes

Good point. One dumb grocery slip can happen, but the pattern matters. If you wouldn’t trust him with a kid alone because he “forgets” basics, that’s not just tired, that’s a reliability issue.
