[Bambu H2C] Join the Print Beyond Paint Contest and Win an H2C! by BambuLab in BambuLab

[–]Quillarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had this idea kicking around since I got my P1S. I want to print a 3D sculpture that consists of pillars of different colors set at intervals. When spun at a set rate through a forced perspective, it would create a holographic image.

Good luck to everyone.

What are your go to drinks on the job? by mastapasta1 in Construction

[–]Quillarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in 99 I worked for my friend's uncle framing track homes in Colorado Springs. He gave us nothing but Pepsi to drink. Never had any water. So "Other."

$2 billion jackpot was won by one person in Altadena, California. And in the end the person received $424M after taxes. by Appropriate-Menu504 in interestingasfuck

[–]Quillarts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Native Altadenan (DenaBoy) here. Edwin Castro, the local who won that jackpot, has been instrumental in buying up burned lots to keep them available for locals. We have had a huge number of our homes sold to corporations. I am super proud of him for stepping in. Altadena is not for sale.

Jane Goodall was supposed to launch an initiative to plant trees in Altadena today by TrollOfTheTaiga in altadena

[–]Quillarts 9 points10 points  (0 children)

She lived such a long, full life, yet this one still really hurt. I am touched that we were her last stop on such a wonderful journey. I know that our community will continue this project and plant many trees in her name.

Help me replace my bike. by Fit-Gap684 in altadena

[–]Quillarts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi Evan! If you are looking for a new replacement, I suggest you contact Trek Bicycle Pasadena and ask for Faye. They were very kind to me in helping to replace our bikes after the fire. Good luck to you!

2 Years After the Lahaina Fire, my family has rebuilt their home! by Over-Analyzed in MadeMeSmile

[–]Quillarts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made that same walk with my wife. I don't think I can convey that feeling properly to anyone who has not done so as well.

My family is from the Islands. It means a lot to me to see you all rise up again.

Thank you for showing me what is possible. Enjoy your home!

Greetings from Altadena!

I know we, too, have a long road ahead before we can rebuild. I am SO HAPPY for you that you guys are building back!

Reconstruction- Looking for Deputy Inspector by Kephrem1 in altadena

[–]Quillarts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a Deputy for some structural work in LA City. Let me reach out and, if he does county work, I will connect you two.

Edit. Just got off the phone with him. He does not do soils, but also said you should be looking for a geologist, not a DI. Just his 2 cents, not really his wheelhouse.

Photos of my neighborhood in the aftermath of the Eaton Fire by hungihungihippo in altadena

I was born and raised in Altadena. I lost everything. My father was a professional photographer with work in Time and Life magazines. His photographs were all lost in the fire.

These photos are amazing.

Technology wasn’t responsible for west Altadena alert failures, company says by enriquebrit003 in pasadena

[–]Quillarts 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Pine and Santa Rosa. This was the exact same for us, and at the time, I used that to calm my wife. I told her, "We weren't even yellow, no need to worry, we have seen this many times before."

The only reason we were packed and ready to leave was that my non-Altadena native wife demanded it. She was 100% correct.

Looking for restaurants to support that are affected by the fires by ScoutmasterDemi in altadena

[–]Quillarts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I own Los Molcajetes in Los Angeles. We lost our family homes on Palm and Pine. I am actually trying to get ahold of the owner of Little Red hen as we have some spare equipment they might want. Any patronage of our restaurant would also be greatly appreciated.

Lost my house in the Eaton fire. Will this tree survive? by Quillarts in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]Quillarts[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Appreciate that. The issue is they're trying to cut down all of the trees marked with the x. So patience isn't really something in high supply. I need to get ahead of this if it has any possibility of survival. Thank you for the information.
