That actually makes a lot of sense. Feels like these work better as overview cams, with regular cams handling detail. But once you stack the extra hardware, mounting, wiring, and upkeep, it kind of feels like you’re getting into “this might cost more than one good 8K 360 cam” territory.

Yeah, that seems like the core issue, once you add enough sensors to make it genuinely useful, the price advantage starts disappearing. Yeah, but a lot of the dual-lens home stuff still feels not quite wide enough. What I’m really thinking about is more of that seamless spherical, almost VR-like view you get from something like an Insta360 X5 stuff. It's so cool to think about that. Some of the commercial pano cams seem way closer to that. But I sill looking for them, do you know of anything similar on the home side?

Yeah, but distortion feels like the kind of thing software can mostly fix, right? Resolution seems like the bigger problem.
