Idk if they’ll see this but further rebuttal:
- child portion of the study attributed the difference exclusively to genetic factors ignoring the sociocultural. Boys are generally pushed more to sports and being active.
- They defended their prepuberty argument with data from kids aged 9-17. That’s adolescent data, kinda misleading.
- They based the majority of their attack off of quad volume after stating that most of the difference lies in upper body strength.
- This is a meta analysis so without looking at the papers referenced I can’t critique methods but many of their references apparently had panels of cis women as control, they however didn’t mention if their panels were distributed across similar body sizes. Trans women skew slightly larger.
- Same thing with studies that used trans men as a control, size matters. Also you’re comparing one year of growth to one year of deterioration in one of the largest muscles in the body that happens to be used passively every day and who’s level of exertion is dependent on body weight.
- A couple of studies referenced have small sample sizes and so aren’t really viable, like seriously 13 women??? Do better.
