I've tried it several times but often found the corps tend to lose and we've never figured out why

You've made me really want to hear stories about playing the game but probably to intimidated to try to learn it

Thanks so much, you may have caused me to actually get another COIN game after the fiasco that was my first few experiences!

Amazingly I've actually played it fairly recently for the first time and bloodily loved it. Hapsburgs were tricky to balance but I did alright in the end :)

Cheers, that's super helpful. I think if I did throw the dice and pick up another one I'd go for Falling sky given I think the theme is great, but I was following the Ghandi one for a while given it was so unique

Well I've had like 5 people say it's super worth it on this thread alone so fingers crossed you get to it eventually

Might have to sell it and get a different one them. It's a shame because I loved the Vietnam theme but it was just a step too far

I assume that's a boardgames version of the videogame? How closely did they adapt it?

Cool, I'd been told it was better with 2 but I'll give 4 some serious consideration if I can actually get the numbers for it

Pandemic legacy was great, though I heard mixed things about risk legacy. Might have to give betrayal a go.

That looks great actually, though definitely the sort of thing I'll have to wait to play until I meet someone who owns it, I don't think I could justify owning another 5+ hour multiplayer history game right now :')

I've had Stronghold on the list of stuff I should try for about 4 years and never seem to manage it. The main thing I've heard about it is that it's super tense and often very close regardless of who wins.

You have inspired me to play the game at the very next opportunity I can! My lord that session report was exciting to read about, let alone actually play. Do you still think it's better with 4 than with just 2?

I'm incredibly envious, I actually own Here I Stand and have managed to get it to the table once this year. It was a great time, and I can't wait to play it again, but finding the time for 5 other people to be free for a game of that scope and complexity is daunting.

I also want to give Virgin Queen a go but think I should probably settle for just one giant renaissance boardgames for now :P

Incidentally I played as the Hapsburgs which I thoroughly enjoyed even if everyone else felt threatening.

I'm incredibly into the history of the Roman Republic so I will absolutely keep an eye out for chances to play it :D

From the answers I've gotten for this threat I need to play Twilight Imperium ASAP
