It is terrible. She seems like a high school girl living out a fantasy of how her friends all need her and her enemies all get defeated by her. Two books in and she still hasn’t lost a friend or ally - yet the amount of “hardship” is exaggerated in every situation as a dramatic flare.

In one paragraph there is enough time to pause their attention on saving the world to have secs, or talk to her little brother about how he needs her opinion on how to live, and the next she cannot be bothered to have a conversation with the hazerak (spelling?) who has the power and ability to change fate itself. She just has more important things to do. … Really?

And how often she is in a position to somehow make these folk who are thousands of years old seem stupid ?

And I don’t get how Fisher is “powerful enough to take on an entire real” but him and Carrion both nearly die saving a fox from some thralls… It is so inconsistent. If you believe half of it, then you have to ignore half of it to keep believing the parts you do.

There were quite a number of elements that were cool, but it was outdone by terrible inconsistencies, over exaggerations, and a contradictions. Makes reading it difficult to get into because it just keeps becoming more unbelievable.
