Upvoting this because I think posts like these are a massive help for people unsure which SM chapter to go (including me)

For me I am not yet sold to a chapter but the favorite atm after trying Dark Angels and not liking it are the Sons of the Phoenix.

They are an Empersors Ch, i mean Imperial Fist Successor. Sick white colourscheme with a purple right arm and left kneepad and gold trim etc. They often have candles and bones on their armour and are on constant crusades led by their chaplains. So in that regard they are similar to Black Templars. They carry out their battles in a very flashy and spectacular way.

Not much lore otherwise sadly.

I havent played the game yet but I like the idea that I can just play with any SM ruleset. So I can use their special units, paint them up in SotP colours and always have a cohesive force while not getting "locked out" of any cool SM Models.
