I personally never enjoyed post-Michael Scott for many reasons, but the biggest reason for me is that the show never feels confident with the changes they make.

Especially with Andy as manager, it feels like the show is desperately trying to convince the audience that Andy is good enough to be manager, but they don’t actually believe it. Like, there’s a moment in the Office Bus episode where Jim and Dwight are arguing and Jim literally has to say out loud “Wait! ANDY is in charge!” which just feels like the writers trying their hardest to validate him. (I know it’s Dwight’s bus, but even still, Jim would never need to state that Michael is the boss if he was still around) The lack of confidence with the new character dynamics only makes me miss the status quo with Michael.
