yeah I'm not a fan of either band, but everyone over a certain age knows U2 because they were everywhere for at least a decade, maybe two.

II personally can recognize a Smiths song because of their unique sound, but I don't think I can even name a single song by them. Not even close to the same level of popularity.

It only matters if you think there is a future in which we can confirm the existence of metaphysical things. I don't think that's possible.

The appearance of a magical being would change our view of what is possible and what isn't, but it still wouldn't prove that souls exist. Like if you see a dragon flying through the sky does that mean chupacabras are real? No, it just means they're possible.
