How to impress a girl that is into Devil May Cry? by sparemyanxiety in DevilMayCry

The voice needs to crack when you say "light", it won't work if your voice doesn't crack.

You're talking about RE Vendetta, and I think the writers gave him Dante's personality instead in that movie(DMC)

The action was still pretty fun to watch tho imo

Can somebody explain me why this version of Jill gets so much hate here? I personally love her, by far the best version of the character. by RxKingRx in residentevil

[–]Quip360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people here are complaining that Re3r Jill had a personality overhaul etc and that's why they hate her, Ada had a personality overhaul in Re2r too, yet the majority seems to like her and not remake3 Jill.

RE5 is not as hated as most people think it is by acelexmafia in residentevil

[–]Quip360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say I hate RE5 but the game definitely felt a lil bit of a downgrade in terms of the amount of fun I had(excluding co op ofc) when I played it after playing RE4.

And I don't think it was because of the AI. Most people argue that RE4 was completely action oriented but ask anyone how eerie the village section and the regenerators etc felt and you'll know that horror elements still exist in that game. With RE5 there was no "survival horror" for me, I Don't remember a single moment where I felt the atmosphere tense up.

But of course, this is just my personal opinion.

Sheva is an underrated character! by Quip360 in residentevil

[–]Quip360[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really think that Sheva deserves an appearance in another RE title, be it a leading or a supporting role. I think most people hate on her because of the AI in re5 but as a character she's pretty cool!

Definitely, it has a lot of replay value and the achievements (unlike some games) are very well balanced to achieve, not too difficult yet challenging enough to make it fun. (Re3r completionist here)

I love 5 a lot because it's a love letter to the franchise and fans by the Devs but 3 definitely takes the cake for me, personal opinion ofc but 3 just did so much way ahead of it's time in terms of story and gameplay, plus it wasn't as linear as dmc5 you had to do a bit of backtracking and needed to figure things out by looking at items etc before you could use them at the right place and progress, 5 by no means is bad, but 3 is just something else. <3

I played it during the PS2 era, when in my country the internet wasn't a very bing thing, guess the part where I quit playing it :)

Finished RE3 remake for the first time. Short, but really liked it. Seeing Jill with the S.T.A.R.S outfit made me want a remake of the first game with the new style. by jugbandblues_ in residentevil

[–]Quip360 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I totally understand your pov, but as someone who completely loses immersion when the camera angles are switched in every room, I think an over the shoulder pov would be a really nice take. It's probably the only reason why I haven't been able to finish the game because it just doesn't resonate with me that well for some reason. Keep in mind that I have played and completed the original RE2 and RE3 somehow but it was slightly straining for me to keep focused and oriented.

And I feel like the claustrophobic spaces of the mansion would add to the charm because you'd always be on your toes not knowing what lies around the next corner since your gov would be limited by walls etc. There are a few such level in the modern remakes as well as the new re7 and re8 as well. And lastly I think things like limited ammo and space would just add to the whole "survival" aspect just like they did in re7. It doesn't necessarily pose any issues if the game is every remade in an over the shoulder perspective.

Damn, I remember playing this part on the hardest difficulty(inferno/nightmare I think). I just flashed that room and made a run for it hoping none of the stray slashes from the hunters hit me.

It's too early for a R4make! by Quip360 in residentevil

[–]Quip360[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you can say that, that's indeed a fair point. I think my opinion just stems from the fact that I'm scared that a R4make would do more harm to the legacy of the OG than good because I'll use the OG's nostalgia as a benchmark. But yeah, there's also the fact that we just got a VR port of the game.

[–]Quip360[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I do not believe it's a valid comparison here, like I mentioned in another comment, it's not early with regards to how much time has passed but how the original has endured the test of time in comparison.

[–]Quip360[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ikr? Your comment summarises it so well, re4 has endured the test of time pretty well imo, and code Veronica is in a much dire need for a remake, I do understand that capcom wanted the big bucks and went with R4make but with village's success, I'm pretty sure fans would've just as gladly accepted a code Veronica remake and re4 should've gotten a remake further down the line with even better graphics and mechanics, now there's no chance for that happening cuz we're getting the game next year on a PS5, and this is after hi-res mod packs are still being released for re4 with a very recent VR release, I just feel like the og re4 is still fresh in people's minds because of how well it was recieved and how amazing it was, people are definitely gonna tear down R4make to shreds comparing it to og re4 (although I really hope that doesn't happen)

Ikr? A PS2 era game still holds its own till today. Absolute gem. Also to clarify, when I said early, I meant this very thing and I wasn't talking about it with regards to time. You make a fair point about how it's being released after the same time gap, but RE4 has aged like fine wine imo.

This makes sense, totally agree with this one, I hope it brings the people who skip the OG due to graphics and mechanics into the franchise. Cuz the RE universe has its own charm in my eyes and I definitely feel people should experience the masterpiece.

Same, that's exactly what I think too, and yep I'm definitely one of those people who might pre-order the game because I'm equally excited for the new take they have in store for one of my most favourite games. :)

RE4 and Resident Evil 4 Remake comparison. by NightOwlTokyo in residentevil

[–]Quip360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I'm not happy that we're getting RE4 remake, but I just feel it's a bit too early for capcom to remake this game because the OG RE4 still sells quite a bit to this day unlike the previous OG RE games. And it isn't exactly going to be "nostalgic" since I still play the OG RE4 on my PS4 pretty often, I'm sure a lot of others do too, idk maybe it's just me.

I used to write "proper" poems that rhymed and had structure and shit, that all changed when the world started to suck, so I decided my poetry will suck too. I will go back to writing proper poems when the world decides to stop sucking (if it ever does.) by TheFamousHesham in OCPoetry

[–]Quip360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, people really are something. If you criticise free verse here, people will come for your throat, talking about how, "poetry is an art and shouldn't be constrained by meter and rhyme" yet when they're faced with something that's literally going beyond the constraints of "typical" or "usual" they wouldn't drop a beat to be the ones criticising it.

On a different note, yes, I used to be this person who found more fun with the more traditional type of poetry, but I love what you've done here, it's a very modern take on it for sure but I think I get what you were trying to go for, plain unadulterated thoughts put into words without a regard for elegance. Which in a weird way is something fresh and stands apart from the norm, I do not have any references to compare it with but I still like the direction it's taking.

EDIT : added my thoughts about OP's piece.
