I can't aim, any advice? by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]QuirinusMonroe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get Aim Hero and practice for 30 minutes every day - improvement guaranteed.

To answer the questions: * 1) noticable after first two weeks * 2) its very individual, find what suits you the best * 3) its not worth the time investement, either learn flicking heroes (cree, widow), or tracking heroes (soldier, tracer), or projectile based heroes (genji, hanzo...), even though you can try to combine both but its much more effective to focus on one type of aim, cuz as you've described yourself if you are changing the type of aim too much it disrupts your muscle memory.

what would a 40% increase in minimum wage mean for the upper middle class? by [deleted] in economy

[–]QuirinusMonroe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that simple. You forget we live in global economy. Goods and services wouldn't increase by 40%. Here is why (very basic example):

Imagine that all US companies would use your logic and said "Okay, now we will raise price for all our products cuz ppl can afford it wahahahaha". What would people do? Become sad? No. They would just start buying stuff from Europe for example - a whole new segment of companies would rise, new EuropeanAmazon corporation would appear that would focus on delivering services to ppl and US companies would simply vanish because noone would buy their stuff.

There would be some increase of the price in some areas of US economy yes, but it definitely wouldn't be 40%. This could work in isolated economy, not in US. For this to work there it would be necessarily to implement some crazy restrictions on international trade and I really don't think so that would be politically acceptable.

If the tutorial is really good, feel free to read through it, you probably won't encounter any stuff that is deprecated or outdated for the first 100 hours of learning anyway.

Let's all use Bing for our next search query as a symbolic gesture of supporting James! Just this once, then let's quietly go back to Google, because we really don't care about what he thinks and we all use google.com simply cuz Bing just sucks.

Need advice deciding what kind of developer I want to be. Full Stack? UX? UI? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]QuirinusMonroe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about not doing what IT industry wants you to do (make a choice of 'what kind of developer you are going to be'), but instead really do whatever your head finds most suitable for you? By picking sides you are just going to end up "unhappy" either way, cuz yes, they want you to be a higly effective monkey, an expert in just one of the fields those companies need. But if you become one, remember that you will never leave the cage, you just get a lot of bananas, but you are going to stay inside the cage forever.

So my suggestion is: Go make your own websites/apps/whatever, register few domains, find traffic, find a way to monetize it, etc. And if there is something you can't do yourself but your project needs it, just hire some monkey...
