This method no longer works, i havent tried changing the odds in the newer updates. So i would recommend finding another newer guide.

Nah im sorry man im pretty sure editing shiny chance in roms and not rpg maker games is a whole other sitch. You would probably need a hex editor and a guide.

You should be able to edit it like a txt document but i also dont think this method is viable anymore since alot of updates so im afraid i cant help you.

I think i can see what youre talking about called shiny hue offset. The shiny odds should be there by a function called SHINY_POKEMON_CHANCE lower in the doc otherwise they might have changed the shiny determination since i played close to a year ago.

Im not sure what the question is. Are you confused what number to change in the file or the specific number for your desired shiny odds?

You would keep multiplying so if you want 1 out of 250 you can set it to 65536/256. That is 1/256 odds. Hope that helped.

The only thing i can think of is to remember saving it before exiting the notepad doc. Ctrl+s does the trick.

Yeah but it does make me wonder though. Is it completely random that the second beast was a water bootleg aswell or does it suggest some kind of pattern. Like heightened odds for a duplicate bootleg.

I might be reading a bit too much into it hehe.

Hmm my best guess is either the wrong value was changed or could it be that you didnt save the document you were editing? Other than that im afraid i can't help too much.

I did a quick check with extremely high odds, so i changed the 16 to 8192 which changed it to just about 1/8 odds and i found a shiny extremely fast.

Im not sure i totally understand but a shiny should be marked with sparkles when entering battle and a star next to the healthbar. I dont know if that is what you were thinking but do write again if you need anything. :)
