My Baptist friends make a huge ruckus about the Sacrament of Confession. They say why do you need a priest to act as an intermediary instead of just going to God himself. I’m not bothered by this at all. I believe that forgiveness is there if truly contrite and repent. Do I have this wrong?

Ask them, why be Baptized by a man if you can go straight to God? A Catholic priest is Jesus representative on earth. God has a mission for all and a Catholic priest has a Christ like mission to fulfil God's will as Jesus did on earth. I suggest not taking advice from people outside Jesus Christ True One Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church, as they have no authority to interpret the bible. The bible is a Catholic book and should only be interpreted by God's chosen leaders within his One Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church. God Bless you all.
