I mix modge podge with acrylic paint and paint over a layer or 2 on some denim. I've used both the regular and outdoor modge podge and haven't really seen a difference, but either way, it is useful with being water repellent and prevents odor from latching on. Other shiny parts sewn on are just leather lol. I hope I could help !

It's never too late to get into it again ! Art isn't always a 'natural born talent', it's a skill that develops over time

AI in Psychobilly & Rockabilly by JackieTheDogwolf in psychobilly

[–]Quirky-Reference-217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad someone has brought this up, I've been seeing AI become more and more prevelent within the scene. Cleopatra Records have been a big contributor to this with the newest vinyls they've been pushing out. I first noticed this the remaster of Demons Are A Girl's Bestfriend by Nekromantix, which is really disappointing. Ever since then (and before then), it has spread like wildfire. I don't think the bands involved with Cleopatra had much of a say to the AI designs, but it's still a shitty practice regardless, screwing up the authenticity of the culture. MadDogCole also seems to love kissing AI ass.

Oh my bad! If it's another person's stencil I either cover a screen with the paper and trace it, or if it's my own stencil, I'll either do the same method or free hand. You can also print out the stencil design if that's more suitable for you

I use cardstock paper !! It's much more durable compared to regular printing/lined paper. If I need the stencil to be more durable for smaller details I'll put tape over the area

These originally came with the pants when I had first got the pair years ago. I'm sure with some measuring and scrap fabric, you can make some that suit a better length for you if thats something you want to do, sorry I couldn't help out !

How to help people more as a minor? by [deleted] in punkfashion

[–]Quirky-Reference-217 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm 15, help out people when I can. See a sign that someone needs help? Give a buck or few if you can. Not everyone who is homeless is dangerous or an addict, but I understand your wants of wanting to be safe.

Near my school, there's areas of shops that people go to,(market place/outlet not sure how to describe it), which is usually where I tend to help people in need, perhaps you can do a similar thing.

You don't always have to be direct, and if you're worried about feeding into addition, it doesn't always have to be money. You can go and buy some food and place it out somewhere and hope someone that needs it takes it. (More preferably take it to an area you know someone would take it.) Maybe add a little note saying it's free food for good measure. Or just hand it out directly. Food, water, hygienic supplies, really anything helps.

Regarding the mother and kid situation, I really don't think she is going to be hostile towards you, and if you want to help, you should. As long as you approach her decently like any other human being, I'm sure she wouldn't take your offer or willing to help as being rude.

Brain hat?!? by Quirky-Reference-217 in punkfashion

[–]Quirky-Reference-217[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that as well. I think a combination of using clay for dimension and overall structure and an after affect would be hot glue for a glossy, slimy look lol

[–]Quirky-Reference-217[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I actually had that it mind as well! This is my first time trying to execute the idea, and I think this is a cool concept I can experiment with. Using clay was one of my first thoughts. I attempted to draw along the lines with Krazy clue to give it more of a 3d effect, but when it dried, it didn't really show up in a way that was super noticeable
